Four...!!
Three...!!
Two...!!
I felt someone's presence walk beside me and removed my blindfold when I heard a firecracker launched.
"ONE!!" They cheered.
Then those fireworks crashed into the sky so loud just like hearing my idiotic friends greet me enthusiastically with them popping confetti around me.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LEVI!!"
Everybody cheers, laughs and smiles. The lights of the fireworks kept on illuminating the whole scenario. I saw a person behind me whose holding the blindfold and staring at the fireworks in awe.
It was her.
She's here by my side.
"Happy Birthday.... Levi." She slowly jests away from the lightened dark sky to look at me with a small shy smile. "I... uhh, wish you'd appreciate this not-so-grand thing we all made for you." Then she chuckled nervously.
I looked around. There are elegant lanterns hanging around that I admit made the place decently simple but appreciable. In front of us was table with wines and liquor in line then a cake with a small candle and were also surrounded with scented candles.
I knew it. It was the lemon and pomegranate scent.
"Now, shorty!!! Make a wish!!!" Hanji squealed.
"Wish?" I asked bluntly.
Erwin laughed. "Levi you're almost mid-twenties but you don't know what wish is?"
"No, I mean. This is pathetic, no wish will fucking happen, I'm not a kid waiting for mirac-"
"Just do it." I heard (y/n) growing irritated. "Just for once, besides there's nothing gonna be missed if you do it."
What-why can't I resist her?
"Fine." I sigh in defeat but kept on wear. "But I swear, I'll never do this again."
"Yeah, sure shorty." Hanji laughed. "And try to wish getting taller."
"Shut up, four-eyes." Levi said annoyed.
They all laughed. Tch. Bastards.
"Close your eyes." (Y/n) whispered behind my ears.
"Do I really have to?" I whispered back, annoyed.
"Of course."
"Tch."
Then I heard her giggle. So cute.
Anyway, I slowly closed my eyes, still hearing the deafening sounf of the fireworks.
'Okay, I don't know if this shit will ever happen but I'll give it a shot.
Now, I wish....
I wish...'
Wait.
What shall I wish?
Oh... I know.
'I wish that things will stay as what they used to be in my life, my mother... I wish she's always happy even without me.
I also wish that my friends will always become strong whatever bullshit comes to their life.
And lastly...
I wish that (y/n) will ever recover from her amnesia... until I finally get the courage to tell her how...
I feel.'
Oh, wait-
Ugh, do I really have to wish what's coming next in my head?
Tch. Let's just try. For even once. Like (y/n) said, there's nothing going to be missed.'I don't know if this gonna fucking happen, but...
Okay. I wish to become taller... a bit?'
Alright, that's enough. Shit.
I opened my eyes and blowed the candle in front of me. They all cheered and now having a glass of alcohol in their hands.
"Let's toss for shorty's special day!!" Hanji yelled.
They all were happy.
I know. I'm not fond of surprises and I don't know why am I grateful that they're all happy, mostly her... Even if physically, I don't show how happy am I.
I am emotionally and mentally glad.
But whatever this shit is all about, my birthday, Christmas or even death anniversary, well I don't care. As long as we are all together. I'm fine.
I guess.
