You two progressed to the right and encountered a weird puzzle. There were signs explaining 'Bridge Seeds' that you didn't really understand and a waterfall too.
"What do we do here?" You asked, looking around the room curiously.
Flowey cleared his throat and you looked in his direction to see that he had lined up four of what you assumed were Bridge Seeds with his vines. You were kinda surprised that he was able to arrange the plants so quickly without you noticing it. Heck, what wasn't he able to do?
There were other weird puzzles in the next few rooms that Flowey solved efficiently without error. You were impressed with his knowledge of the puzzles in this area. After he solved the puzzles, you two moved on to a room with an Exho Flower and a little bench. Your legs were tired from the trek through Waterfall and you wee starting to get a little sweaty from the humid atmosphere.
"Can we rest?" You asked Flowey, hoping he wouldn't be annoyed.
Flowey blinked. "Okay." He didn't have any edge to his voice, surprisingly. You sat down on the little bench and let out a sigh. Flowey looked up at you. "Is something wrong?" He asked.
You closed your eyes exhaustedly. "I miss my family and my friends. I wonder if they know I'm gone...." You replied.
"Me too." Flowey murmured, leaning up against you and offering comfort. He could be such a little asshole, but you were beginning to see that behind the mask he was wearing he was soft and comforting. You thought back to when you had first met and he had tried to kill you. You felt a little uncomfortable at the memory considering he was right next to you at this very moment.
You two sat in silence for a moment before Flowey spoke up again. "What is your family like?" He asked.
You told him and he listened patiently as you described them, including some to your friends in your answer. He payed attention, which was also kind of surprising.
"Cool." He murmured when you finished. "Anyways, we should probably be moving on. If you're ready, of course." He added, blinking. "Oh, and you're gonna like what comes next!"
"Sure." You replied, getting up from the bench. You were curious.
Flowey lead you into the next room which contained many Echo Flowers. They were beautiful, scattered around and illuminating the room with their neon light. "Wow...." You murmured, gazing at them as they stood before you. Flowey snorted and you looked at him in confusion.
"Not the flowers, silly." He chuckled. "Up there." He titled his head all the way back to gaze at the ceiling, and you did the same.
You gasped. There were beautiful glowing gems on the roof that almost resembled stars, and it took your breath away. It was amazing. They shined brightly against the darkness of the ceiling, their light casting down onto you. "Woah... they look like stars, Flowey!" You exclaimed.
"I always wished that someday I could see real stars." Flowey snorted. "That's stupid though."
"What do you mean?" You asked.
Flowey sighed. "I'm never going to be able to see them. As Asriel I always wished I could. I still wish, but I know it's not gonna happen so... yeah." He replied.
"But we can go to the surface together and then you can see them! Right?" You pointed out.
"I'm not allowed up there." Flowey said almost blankly, his expression unreadable.
Your heart sank. "Oh."
"But I like to come here. It's peaceful, and this is the closest thing I'll ever get to stars." He chuckled slightly, his eyes bittersweet. He looked down at the ground and sighed. Seeing that painful expression, you felt determination to get you both to the surface boiling in your stomach. You wanted him to see stars, and sunrises, and sunsets, and full moons, and daylight, and... everything. It wasn't fair that he had to be trapped down here.
"I'm gonna get you to the surface." You declared. Flowey breathed out, an expression of exhaustion worn on his face.
He looked up at you, grief shimmering in his eyes. "I told you. I can't go up there. I'll hurt people. I'm a danger." He murmured. "Frisk and Asriel agreed that I would stay down here for the safety of humans and monsters. It's just the way things have to be."
"But... that's not fair. They can't just... deprive you of freedom." You reasoned.
Flowey laughed coldly. "Oh yes, they can." He replied.
You kneeled down beside him. "I'm sorry that you're stuck down here now," You said gently, "But I promise I'm gonna get you out of here. I'm your friend, and I care about you and don't want you to be alone. Okay?"
-Flowey's POV-
They just called me their friend. I just felt something in that moment, but it went away quickly. I can't quite put my finger--er, leaf I guess--on what it is, but it was there for a split second."Okay." I replied after a moment, even though I knew it wasn't going to happen.
Then the two of us gazed at the gems that dotted the black ceiling. They sat by my side in the grass, and I felt strangely calm. I felt strangely... peaceful. It was weird feeling a positive emotion after being numb for so long. I feel this clearly though, which confuses me the most.
I think it's them.
I think they're the one who's making me feel.
I think it's (Y/N).
