So if the Native Americans were susceptible to European disease, why weren't the Europeans affected by any diseases native to the Americas?
They wouldn't have encountered it before, just as the Native Americans had not encountered their diseases.
(Yes, I am aware that Syphilis was brought back to Europe with Colombus, but that was most likely 'voluntarily' transferred. AKA through sex. Although there are other ways to get STDs/STIs, such as infected needles and blood transfer/the transfer of other bodily fluids such as sweat and saliva, but they're called SEXUALLY transmitted diseases/infections for a reason.)
But... Why did all the Native Americans drop dead and the Europeans not?
Or is this yet another example of the heavily flawed American education system where we mostly learn about the successes of white men?
