What a joke...

'C'mon (your name). Wake up from this stupid dream. No way all that could be happening in reality...' You told yourself still laughing like crazy. 'My friend... was L?' You took a break from laughing and whipped away the tears. Your stomach was hurting and you felt muddled. 'What an irony. My friend was L and now I didn't just lose Hideki, but I lost L as well?' You thought as you sniveled. Not only Matsuda was surprised at your reaction, but you could feel the eyes of all the other detectives fixed on your back. Matsuda had no idea how he should react and just stared at your wide smile. "(Your fake name)..." He started. You brought your hair back with your hand and took a sip of the coffee. 'My dream... Gone...Just like that...' You realized that there was no hope for the case to be completed without the worlds greatest detective. The battle is over. Kira had won and is making his way up to be the god of his damned world. 'I didn't know that it would end soo soon...' You thought.

And still, even though he was the greatest detective, L approached you and talked to you. 'No wonder he was killing my self-control so easily and figuring things out so fast. I was seeing L... the best detective. But why? Why did he approach me? Why was it me that he trusted and talked to about the case?' You asked yourself and completely ignored your surrounding. You didn't care if someone was talking to you at the moment of if the detectives were watching you. You deepened yourself in your messy mind. It was like a jump into the dark deep sea.

No noise was heard,

No soul was seen.

There was nothing but you and yourself.

You dived deeper into the dark water looking for something.

But what was it that you were looking for?

You could see so much, but your eyes stopped at one thing...

'So when Hideki said that once he could trust me he would tell me who he really was... He would have told me that he was L, but it never came to that point... Despite having a team he contacted me... And now I'm the only one who knows the true reason behind Kira's power. I actually accomplished my goal to find out how he kills and now here I am, but L is gone...' You knew that you needed time to actually accept that L was dead. 'And since I am here now in place of him, I will be Kira's new opponent. Unlike L, I will not show him this. As I told Hideki in our first meeting, I would get close to Kira without him noticing. Then I would make him trust me and overpower him when he expects it the least... Yeah, that's my way, Light...' You were determined that you would and could do it. You would do it for L! For Hideki... Be the help, that he would never find out about. Without L's help, you could have never gotten to this point. Fate decided that you needed to be in the wrong place at the right time or... in the right place at the wrong time...

You took another sip of the coffee and turned to the confused Matsuda. "Where is the bathroom?" You asked him. "Uh...there." He pointed at a door and you went to wash your face. Wash out all the emotions to be able to focus. You weren't weak nor were you a child. This was serious and you were playing a very important rule in it. You lost a very important person, but this didn't mean that you had an excuse to feel weak and upset for a while. If L was in your place he would have stayed strong and worked harder to catch the murderer. And that was what you were going to do... Be strong and revenge yourself on Kira. For all the people that he hurt by taking their beloved ones away... You would make him pay for what he has done to Hideki!

When you came out of the bathroom, you went back to your place. Aizawa was sitting in front of you. "You can go home if you want." He started. "It's hard to accept that L is dead and I doubt that you can work that way..." He explained. "Did you all go home when Hideki died?" You asked him and he looked up to you. "Uh, no we didn't. But it was hard to get to work and actually focus when our best person had just left us. I know how you feel and it will be better if you take some time off for now." He explained. "I believe you. You all knew Hideki for so long. What really surprised me was that Hideki was actually L. The fact that L is dead is shocking, but it also means that we need to work twice as hard to keep up our work. I didn't join the task force to go home and take a break when we haven't even started yet. I know that all of you gave your life for this and death is expected." You informed the detective. "Are you sure about this?" Matsuda asked you. You looked at him and nodded. "I still have so much to catch up, before I can begin working with you guys." You reminded them. "(Your fake name) is right. Now that L is gone we need every help that we can get so we can catch Kira. We shouldn't be sad, but determined to catch the person, who took Ryuzaki's life." Light added. 'So, Ryuzaki was his alias in the task force...' you realized and took a deep breath. 'I will not be easy to defeat, Light...' you thought. "Matsuda. Could you show (Your fake name) everything?" Aizawa requested and got up.
