I breathed heavily as i opened my eyes, feeling water around me.

I looked around, panicking, I managed to scramble up, when I finally heard it, scuffling.... shouts...

I finally came into view of the fight, a struggle between a larger man and...

"LAPIS!"

Her black and blue hair was barely visible, but I could just make it out, underneath the man's grasp.

I started running again, but they were still so far away....

I stopped, I was on the edge of a roof.

Roof? How did.... my memeries were mere blurs.

All there was now was her. I could remember HER.

I suddenly remembered my gun. I patted myself, panicking. Who knew how long lapis could hold off such a large man.

I pulled it out, checking the bullets and the popping the cartridge back in, I looked back up, hoping to get a shot off, but instantly froze.

The man was smiling, holding a knife to lapis's stomach, she struggled, but weakly against such a brute.

"I would suggest putting that down..." the man sneered, I breathed heavier.

Lapis glanced at me as he roughly grabbed her neck, forcing her eyes closed.

"Didn't you hear me RUNT? Put it down or ill let her pretty little insides see the outside world"

He moved the knife a little closer, poking at lapis's stomach.

Even from this distance I could see tears comeing down her cheeks.

I lowered the gun, but only slightly, not putting it down.

"LET HER GO!" I screamed

He simply laughed.

"You didn't obey."

I watched in horror as he slowly pressed the knife a little closer to lapis's skin, drawing blood.

I shook. How was I supposed to do this.

Choose to either let lapis live or let one of the most dangerous criminals the agency has ever seen, get away.

I felt my heart pound as my breathing slowed, but stayed just as heavy.

I knew what she would do.
