As promised...

Warning: lots of feels in this one guys. I almost cried writing it it broke my heart.

Lapis POV.

I was confused. She had started flipping nervously around on the radio. "I hate you, I love you" came on and that made her even more frantic. Her face was getting red.

She was acting so strange. Was she scared of what Casper would...

I stopped. I had to say something, I turned and opened my mouth but realized she was pulling into the parking lot of some diner. She quickly unbuckled and rushed out of the car.

I followed. "PERIDOT!"  She kept running, out into a patch of trees nearby. I followed best I can, but she was faster.

I bent over to catch my breath, but glanced around. My head was spinning. Everywhere looked the same.

"PERI! PLEASE COME BACK!" I didn't understand. Something was really wrong and I didn't know why she wouldn't tell me. I felt tears well up in my eyes.

Why would she? Why would she tell me when she has friends who have known her for years, I've only known her a week.

I wanted to know her more. Maybe she picked that up the night she got beat up, she faked that smile and leaned on me to make me feel like it was normal. Not make things awkward.

Maybe it was all just a mistake. I broke down, falling to my knees as i huffed, letting tears fall off my face. I looked up and saw A familier blonde was hugging her knees under a nearby tree.

I shook my head and stood, stumbling over to her and grabbing her shoulders. My mouth was surprisingly dry. I barely managed a whisper...

"Peri... what's wrong...?"

She didn't look up, instead she scooted further towards the tree, out of my grasp.

When she spoke, it was not what I expected.

"D-don't touch me!" She sounded... sad. Pitiful.

She was crying. I felt my heart aching. I scooted closer and wrapped my arms around her. She stiffened, then relaxed. She didn't move, letting me hug her...

But not for long. Suddenly she screamed, pushing me away, onto the Forest floor. I winced and grabbed my ankle, which had hit a stone lying on the ground.

I looked up and saw her. Tears streamed down her face, but her eyes. Her eyes broke me. They looked down with worry and anger and confusion. So Many emotions I didn't know how much of each.

"Peri..." she flared her nostrils and gritted her teeth, aggresively wiping tears from her eyes with her whole arm.

"STOP. STOP CALLING ME THAT!" She screamed. Her fists were clenched, and she was shaking.

I was so confused. I could feel my heart breaking at her actions. She had seemed so calm. I had to fight this. I wasn't going to let her treat me like this.

I winced, attempting to stand, but my ankle was bleeding. I settled with a sort of kneeling pose. "Peridot, please... tell me what's wrong..." I shuddered.

She didn't say a word. She stood there looking down at me. Her eyes were a mess now. Emotions I could no longer read flashed across them at a rate I'd never seen before.

When finally, she whispered.

"You. Youre... you're my problem. You're what's wrong." I looked up. Her eyes were blank now, and more tears fell. But her eyes shifted to sad. "I..." she turned her head. Refusing to look at me.

"I can't look at you, lazuli."

I breathed heavier. She called me by my last name? I was HER problem? I started searching my memory, trying to find... maybe I sent an accidentel message, maybe I hurt her feelings...

"Please peridot.... tell me what I did!" I sounded desperate. Fuck it. I hurt her somehow and I wanted to fix it. I wanted her to let me fix it.

"I'm sorry..." it was barely a whisper. Her tears stained her cheeks as she said it.

I just glared at her. she turned, walking away and leaving me there in the Forest. She didn't turn back. Didn't say a word. She left me and the further she walked away the more I felt myself cry.

What was I supposed to say to that?
