Before they knew it, Christmas had arrived.
Snow fell upon the cozy vacation home, it was a white Christmas after all. Carefully wrapped presents sat beneath the Christmas tree. Philip, Alexandria, and Juliette seemed to have the most presents with their names on it, but their were still a few gifts for the adults.
As Y/N made her way downstairs, Lafayette happened to be on the same staircase landing as her.
"Ma ange, what a, 'ow you say? Coincidence, that we have run into each other here." He smirked, and pointed up to a bushel of mistletoe hung above their heads. "And 'ow strange, I forgot I had hung some mistletoe 'ere. Maybe now you could explain this tradition to me?"
Y/N narrowed her eyes at Lafayette, she was certain he had orchestrated this. "A coincidence? Really? Well played, Laf. Well played."
She placed her hands on either side of his face, and pressed her lips firmly up against his. Y/N pulled away after a few moments, and continued down the staircase.
"What an explanation!" Lafayette mused.
Hercules, Adrienne, and Angelica were in the family room with the children. Eliza was in the kitchen, working on a Christmas dinner.
"Y/N." Hercules grinned. "Good, you're finally here. Now we can open presents!"
Y/N chuckled. "You're still a child at heart, Hercules."
He shrugged, accepting it. Hercules kneeled by the tree, and began passing out presents.
Lafayette has entered the room unnoticed to Y/N, until he sat next to her on the couch.
"Ma ange, it looks like we're under mistletoe once again." He grinned innocently.
Y/N rolled her eyes. "Really, Laf? You ca–"
She was cut off when he placed his lips on her's once more. Y/N was beginning to melt into the kiss, when Hercules let out a whistle. Y/N pulled away, blushing furiously.
"I think we should open presents with the girls now." Y/N squeaked, her face red.
Lafayette smiled proudly, he loved the way he could make Y/N blush. "Of course, ma ange. It is Christmas, after all."
They began unwrapping presents, and the children couldn't be happier. Angelica had gotten the children each a stuffed animal. An elephant for Alexandria, a bear for Juliette, and a lion for Philip. Hercules and Adrienne had worked together to make pretty little dresses for the girls. And Eliza had knitted each baby girl a colorful blanket.
Gifts were exchanged between the adults as well. Y/N's favorite gift was from Lafayette.
He had handed her a small box, the wrapping wasn't the best quality, but Y/N let it slide. She opened it, and examined the trinket inside. It was a simple silver chain, with three charms on it. The first charm had Y/N's initial carved into it, the other two charms had the initials of the twins on it.
"Do you like it?" Lafayette asked worried. "If you don't, I could always get you something else. I mean, you-"
Lafayette stopped when Y/N threw her arms around his torso, hugging him tightly.
"It's perfect, Lafayette. Thank you."

Christmas came and past too quickly.
It was now December 27th. Everyone was still at the Schuyler's place upstate. Save Alexander, John, and Peggy. Eliza, Angelica, and Y/N were crushed to say the least that Peggy hadn't made it back for Christmas, but there wasn't much they could do. On this fine morning, Angelica had an idea.
