Chapter 34: Christmas

I had found nothing...

Why is it so hard to find something!?

Nobody I asked was helpful either, apparently Jimin has always been a Christmas enthusiast, but he has never been one for presents.

I looked at clothes, but they aren't special. I looked at teddy bears, but they are so cliché and generic. I even went to the extent of looking at cars, I have the money, but he would just scold me for wasting way too much on him.

So after a whole day of shopping for absolutely nothing, I decided I needed more advice.

"Uh, Hey Taehyung."

That's how I ended up standing on my boyfriend's ex boyfriend's doorstep.

Taehyung and I never really got on well, I used to get overly protective whenever Jimin was within ten feet of this boy... But he is Jimin's best friend.

And I hate to admit that even he may know more about what Jimin likes than I do...

"Jungkook?" He seemed shocked but then immediately invited me inside, "Uh my parents aren't here for the holidays but Baekhyun's here at the moment, where's Jimin?" He explained while leading me up the stairs to what I assumed was his room.

"Oh, he's visiting his cousin to drop off Christmas cards and stuff, it's just me." To say I felt awkward would be an understatement...

When we entered the room Baekhyun was sat on his bed, PlayStation controller in hand and his tongue poking out slightly in concentration at the game he was playing.

He turned his head quickly and smiled a little, "oh, Hi Jungkook, how are you?" He questioned while turning his focus back to the game.

"I'm good thanks, well, actually I have a problem, that's why I'm here." I sat in a spinning chair across from them both on the bed.

"Oh, what's up?" Taehyung asked and crossed his legs on the bedsheets.

"Well, I want to get Jimin something for Christmas, this is the first holiday we'll be celebrating together, it's been almost two months since we got back together but, we've got a really long history as you know, and I just want to get him something special, to show him how much he means to me." I probably looked so lost and helpless, but this really meant a lot to me, and there was only 3 days left until Christmas and I still didn't know what to get Jimin let alone actually gone to buy anything yet.

"Hm, well, I know that Jimin isn't one for gifts, he thinks it's stupid that people waste so much money, especially if they're using that money on him, he likes to work to earn everything, not just get given it for no reason." Taehyung explained what his parents had already told me.

I sighed and rubbed my eyes a little, "I just... I know that he doesn't want me to get him anything, but you don't understand how much I need to do this for him. I want him to know that I'm gonna stay by his side through everything and that it wouldn't be a waste of money if I'm using it on him because I would buy him the world and more."

Baekhyun paused his game and turned to face me with a slight frown, "well surely it should be obvious what you want to get him then?" He questioned and then it was my turn to frown in pure confusion.

"If it were obvious I wouldn't be here asking for help." He grinned at my response and by then even Taehyung was confused, "Jungkook, look, whatever you get him, it needs to come from you, I don't want to give you any ideas, because then it's not really and truly from your heart. Stop worrying about it and just turn your feelings into the perfect gift. Trust me, it'll come to you."
