Chapter 34: Christmas

"And why would she be Cupid?" Jungkook asked with a raised eyebrow, "because she gets the most attention from couples. You just happen to be the only couple here right now. So Cupid." Joy shrugged nonchalantly before passing me a carrot to feed the reindeer.

"Thank you." I mumbled and turned back to Cupid, as I fed the animal I heard the girl ask Jungkook if we'd rather sit inside or outside, "outside!" I turned and answered for him, "Okay, outside please." I ran my fingers through the fur on Cupid's head before slipping my glove back on and walking with Jungkook to our table.

Though it wasn't snowing, nor had it snowed yet, the air was still just as cold as it would be with snow, it just wasn't the right weather.

I had on my thickest coat and my warmest scarf, as well as one of my beanies, Jungkook had even put on a coat, he doesn't wear coats often, always just settles with hoodies.

Jungkook ordered us both Hot Chocolates and Joy smiled before walking inside the café.

"This is really pretty Jungkook." I grinned at him across our table, "That's why I brought you here, and because I wanted Hot Chocolate, the next place is more fun." He winked and I blushed.

Impatience was taking over me, but not because I wanted anything to hurry, just because I couldn't stand the fact that I didn't know where we were going or what he had planned, it was more the suspense that was killing me actually...

We sat and enjoyed our Hot Chocolate, making small talk, but not awkwardly, as the steam from the hot beverage clouded around us in the cool air.

The drink make my own body so hot that I felt like some sort of smoke machine whenever I let out a breath.

An hour or so later, we had arrived to our next destination on this amazing Christmas adventure Jungkook was taking me on. Once again everything was decorated beautifully.

Sparkling silvers and bright reds and greens, so many gleaming lights everywhere... It was magical.

This is probably what I love most about Christmas, how everything suddenly looks so magical, even though over autumn time most things that people call beautiful die from the harsh weather, winter and Christmas time transforms that into something that I think is even more stunning than the rest of the year...

The sun was already setting even though it was now only 3pm, but I was excited for the stars to come out, they're like extra Christmas lights!

Although, it was beginning to get overcast, making me think maybe I wouldn't see the stars tonight...

Jungkook grabbed my gloved hand and led me between the two huge Christmas trees and down a thin bricked path, fenced once again with sparkling Christmas lights.

Once the path ended we were stood in front of a huge ice skating rink, again, the word magical is what I'd use to describe it. It was indoors, but the roof of the large tent used to shield it was patterned with more lights than I had ever seen. There was one perfectly proportioned and exquisitely decorated tree in the centre as everyone skated in an anticlockwise circle around it.

I turned to face Jungkook who was gleaming at me, "wow..." I breathed as my wide eyes scanned the whole area, I didn't even notice Jungkook leave my side as he returned a few moments later and lifted up a pair of ice-skates for me.
