'Adrenaline Junky'

"You never even see them anymore."

"I do, too. I'm... um... Jessica and I are going to Port Angeles tomorrow, Shopping. And Athena can come with us as well."

Charlie looks to Bella suspicious. "You hate shopping"

"That's how good of a friend I am." Charlie looks to somewhat pleased.

"Alright. Shopping." Charlie looks down at Athena. "You wanna go with them?" Athena gets a thoughtful look on her face, she looks up at Charlie and gives a nod.

Port Angeles

Bella, Jessica and Athena exit the theatre. A poster behind them shows the tittle 'Rio'.

"You know, there is a lot of talking animal movies." Bella looks down to Athena who is holding her hand. "How did you enjoy it, Athena?"

Athena smiles up to her brightly. "Yep, it was awesome."

Jessica scoffs. "That movie would be great if I was like four." Athena glares at her.

"Hey!"

Jessica ignores her and faces Bella. "Weren't you suppose to buy something today?"

Bella glances down at the bag she held to her side. "I bought something."

"Socks and Athena's toy doesn't count. 'Course, I was surprised you even called."

Bella looks anywhere but Jessica. "I've been kind... out of it."

"Kind of? I mean, at first I was worried. Then I'm like, okay, she's still bumming? It's not like I wasn't going through things, too. Like Mike deciding he wanted to 'just be friends?' That was really hard and-"

"How about a ride, girls?" The girls look across the street to see four bikers. Jessica goes in front of them.

"Come on."

Bella starts moving towards the men, letting go of Athena's hand. "I know them... I think..."

"Can we just go..." Jessica pulls at Bella's arm, but she shakes it off.

"I want to see something." Bella begins walking towards the men, Athena looks up at Jessica, scared.

"Jess, what's mamma doing?" Jessica huffs and picks up Athena, glaring in Bella's direction.

"She's being an idiot."

The two girls see Bella get onto one of the men's bikes and drive off. Athena looks to where her mother disappeared, wide eyed and both hands over her mouth in shock.

A few minutes after Bella disappears, the girls see her appear around the corner, clearly shaken but with another emotion they can't decipher.

Jessica storms up to her, Athena in her arms, glaring at her mother. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

Bella talks, but more to herself. "I.. saw something."

"You. Are insane. Or Suicidal."

"The more dangerous... the more real it was." Jessica scoffs.

"So, What, you're like an adrenaline junky now? For Christ sake, you have a daughter and you want to live dangerously? Go hand-gliding or bungee-jumping. Don't be a freak."

Jessica storms off with Athena in hand. Bella watches the bikers drive off before following the girls.

Next Day
Jacob Black's House

Bella pulls up in her truck, a tarp covering something big in the back. Jacob comes out of the house with a huge grin. Bella unbuckles Athena and helps her out of the truck.

Athena with a large smile runs over to Jacob, who lifts her and spins her around. "Short Stack!!!"

Athena giggles. "Jake!!" Jacob chuckles and puts her down.

Jacob looks over to Bella. "Bella!" She walks over and he gives her a big hug. "About time you came by."

"I bought you something." Bella pulls off the tarp, revealing two motorcycles.

"Scrap metal. You shouldn't have."

Bella sighs. "I rescued them from the dump. They'd cost more than they're worth to fix... unless one had a mechanic-type friend."

"Me, being the mechanic-type friend?" Off her shrug, he continues. "Since when are you into motorcycles."

"Recently."

"And you are sure it's ok to be doing this when you have Athena to look after." Bella looks to her daughter and nods.

"Yeah, it'll be alright."

Jacob shrugs and moves to study the bikes with Athena at his side.

"The parts alone will be pricey."

"I have a collage fund I can dig into." Jacob looks to her with a raised eyebrow.

"Charlie's gonna love that."

"Charlie won't know."

"Wow. Lying to dad. Blowing through college money, maybe even Athena's school money. Repairing dangerous machines - that I'm guessing you'll want to ride?" Bella shrugs.

"I really get it if you think this is stupid  and reckless."

"Oh it's totally stupid and reckless." Jacob leans closer. "When do we start." A genuine smile spreads across Bella's face for the first time. Athena smiles when she sees how happy her mother is, she looks to Jacob before running to Bella and giving her a hug.
