Sure... superbikes made a guy more macho and attractive, but she felt protective over Talen.
"I've always wanted a Ducati. You're not going to change my mind about it." he pouted.
"You'll only be able to use it during Fall and Summer. The rest of the time, it would be collecting dust." she tried to reason with him.
"Alright, we'll just look. I won't get anything."
At the showroom, she saw a side of him that she never thought she would see. The eager child that was set free at Disneyland. He mooned over everything, looking at her with pleading eyes. She had to drag him out of the showroom so they could see other options.
"But.. but I want a bike." he whined.
"I can't believe you're actually whining." she looked at him in the passenger seat.
"You are right though.. I shouldn't be so hasty. I'll get it during summer." he concluded.
"Yea, by then you'd be Mr. Hot shot with several own companies, and I won't get a chance to ride on it." it was her turn to pout.
"Please, you'll be the only one I let near it." he smiled.
But deep down, he knew that once she went on tv, she would shoot to stardom. She would be the one who forgot him. Pushing away those feelings, he concentrated on the present. Around her, he didn't feel the need to try so hard like he did with most people.
They walked into many showrooms and he could not begin to explain how turned on he got when she started talking about cars.
"You can't get a Jaguar. That's something our fathers would get." she said when they finally decided to have dinner at a cozy deli.
"Bossy aren't we? First you don't let me get my Ducati Monster.. now telling me what type of car to get. Tsk tsk." he mocked.
"I just can't help it alright.." she said shyly.
"I'm stuck between the M5 and the A5."
"Mmmm yes.. good choice. Very good." they continued talking and hadn't realised that the shop was already closing.
"Midnight?! Where the hell did time fly to?" Kat asked shocked that she of all people lost track of time. She didn't even get the chance to let her nana know about what had happened today.
"I'm sorry, I'm sure you had other things to do." Talen said guiltily.
"No. no. I didn't have anything else to do. I guess time flies when you're having fun. At least I was." she said meekly.
"I did too." he put his arm around her lightly hoping to reduce the amount of stares she was getting from the men around.
"You know what would be perfect?" she looked at him.
"What?"
"Let's go for a ride. You can drive."
"Ride to where?" he looked at her in wonder.
"Anywhere. Aimlessly. That's if you're not tired."
"That sounds perfect actually." he took her keys, opened the door for her and they were off.
The car was silent, only her music from her ipod flowed through the luxurious car. He headed for the highway and that's when he unleashed the Panamera's speed. Her companiable silence was all he needed.
"Let's go to Maine." he broke the silence. She looked at him in surprise. "Seriously? At this time" it was already close to 1.
"Why the hell not right? We can spend the day tomorrow eating seafood, come back in the next day." Talen said wanting to be spontaneous.
