'Lets Ride A MotorCycle'

Jacob kick-starts the bike. "Slowly... release the clutch." Bella does... the bike moves an inch, Jacob steps back cautiously. She moves another inch. Athena gets up from her spot and walks over to Jacob who doesn't look away from Bella but picks her up. She watches her mother.

Bella's hand slips off the clutch, the bike bucks and falls on top of her. Jacob quickly puts Athena on the ground and goes to Bella, he quickly lifts the bike off her.

Athena stands behind Jacobs legs, watching her Mum get back onto the bike. "You okay? Bruises, breaks?"

"I'm going again."

"I'm not sure that's a good-" Jacob is cut off when Bella hops back onto the bike. Athena moves from behind Jacobs legs. "Mamma?"

Bella ignores her and releases the clutch, she moves forward. She goes slow at first, she keeps going faster. She looks to be in a trance before she snaps back. Bella yells back to Jacob.

"I don't - how do I turn!"

"Bank it! Bank - hit the brake!"

Athena gasps in shock as Bella flies into a wall of trees. Jacob runs to Bella who is lying on the ground, dazed. Athena runs up to the teenagers, she stops and looks to her Mum with tears running down her cheeks.

"Mamma? Are you okay?"

Jacob rubs Athena's back and looks to Bella. "What the heck, Bella. Are trying to get yourself killed?"

Bella looks around before trying to stand. "I want to go again."

Jacob shakes his head. "Forget it. I'm revoking your motorcycle privileges. Man, you scared Athena and hurt your head."

Bella reaches up and touches her head wound, she shrinks away. "God, I'm sorry."

Jacob looks to her, confused as he takes off his shirt. "You're apologising for bleeding?"

Athena slowly walks up to her mum and taps her shoulder. Bella looks to her. "You okay Mamma?" Bella nods as she kisses her head.

"I'm alright baby."

Bella looks back up to Jacob. "It doesn't... bother you?"

"It's just blood, Bella." He bends over her, carefully tending her head. She finds herself looking at him. His dark eyes, bare chest and smooth skin. He glances at her. "What are you staring at?"

"Just, you're actually... good looking."

"Ewww." The teenagers looking to Athena who has her face scrunched up. Jacob laughs before looking back to Bella.

"How hard did you hit your head?"

Bella blushes. "Oh I - Yeah."

He offers her a hand, she grabs it and he helps her up. She holds onto it and looks to him in alarm. "Jake, you're hot."

Jacob smirks. "Upgraded from good looking?" She lets go, Jacob bends down and picks up Athena who yawns, her eyes slowly shutting. Bella places the back of her hand to his forehead.

"No, temperature hot. You're burning up."

"I feel fine." Jacob takes her hand from his forehead and holds it. Bella tries to pull it away.

"What? I can't hold your hand?"

"Mamma doesn't like holding hands anymore." Athena says tiredly. Jacob looks to Bella with a raised eyebrow.

"So you don't hold Athena's hands anymore?" Bella looks away before turning back to him.

"It just... means something else to you than it does me." She ignores his comment on Athena.

"One, that's my problem." Jacob says. "But two... we have fun, you think I'm hot -"

Bella cuts him off. "Good looking."

"I know you like me."

"More than anyone. But... that's all."

"Because of Cullen?" Bella flinches. Jacob grabs one of her hands. "Look, I know what he did to you. I can see it in your face every time his name comes up. But you need to know - I would never, ever do that to you. I promise I will never hurt you. You can count on me and Athena."

Bella looks over to the sleeping five year old before looking down. "I already do. You don't know how much. You're my best friend but... I don't think my feelings will change."

Jacob takes it in, it's hard.
