Chapter 65: Monster Reunion

"Hey, hey, it's okay," Y/n assured as they sat down next to Centipeetle and gently put their arm around her

Centipeetle, still crying, broke a crayon in her hand in half, "That light. Where did it come from?" Steven asked. Centipeetle drew four diamonds on the drawing, pointing to it

"Figures they'd be behind this," Y/n groaned as they noticed the symbol

"Damage from the Diamonds," Steven said.

Centipeetle suddenly coughed and then spat out some acids onto the floor, causing Y/n to jump, "Hey, are you okay?! What's going on?" Y/n asked as Centipeetle fell onto the floor, her left arm began to revert to her corrupted form's arm

"You're reverting. Here, I'll heal you again!" Steven told as he licked his palm and touched Centipeetle's gem, but nothing happened, "Why isn't it working?! How can we help you!?" Centipeetle ran over to the table and painfully showed the picture she drew of the Diamond Authority symbol, "I don't understand!"

Centipeetle squawked then ran up to the warp pad. She began to hit it frantically, but nothing happened, "You're corrupted it won't work!" Y/n told

"Where do you want to go?" Steven asked as he grabbed the drawings and showed it to Centipeetle who pointed at the ship, "The battlefield? Your ship?"

"Awhk!" Centipeetle squawked in agreement

"Is there something on the ship that can help you?" Y/n asked. Centipeetle screamed then slammed her fists on the warpland

"Just hold on. We'll get you there," Steven assured as he and Y/n helped Centipeetle onto the warp pad and then warped in front of a gem battleship. Centipeetle immediately ran towards the ship, "Hey! Wait for Steven!"

"Where are you trying to get to?!" Y/n called as Steven and them chased Centipeetle to the doors of the ship, where Centipeetle was ripping vines frantically.

"Oh. You want in the door. Steven Universe at your service-erse," Steven told as he began ripping vines off the door, Y/n joining as well. Once the vines were cleared, Centipeetle tried opening the door, but failed when her hand reformed back into her corrupted form. Y/n and Steven quickly opened the door together and allowed Centipeetle to run in. On the roof were other gem monsters that looked very similar to Centipeetle, "We're in! What now? Other Centipeetles?" Steven noticed as the rest of the Crystal Gem warped in and joined behind Steven in and Y/n. Centipeetle crawled towards the other Centipeetles and gladly squawked with them.

"Hey now! This is my style!" Amethyst laughed as she shape shifted into a Centipeetle and made her way over to the others, "Can I hang with you, dudes?"

"Amethyst, don't make fun!" Pearl demanded

"I'm not! Ugh!" Amethyst groaned as she reverted back to her original form

"You guys were right after all. I couldn't help Centipeetle," Steven sighed

"You brought the Centipeetle back to her ship. You brought her back to her crew. They've been waiting here for her. They didn't want to leave her behind," Garnet told

"Wait... how did you know any of that?" Steven asked

"She told us" Garnet told as she pulled out Centipeetle's drawings and handed them to Steven and Y/n

"Her drawings?" Y/n questioned

"Her writing," Garnet corrected

"It's actually decently legible!" Pearl told

"Wow," Steven laughed as Centipeetle nudged him happily, "You look so happy here."

Centipeetle squawked in joy as she went over and nudged Y/n lightly, "Hey, I didn't even do anything," Y/n laughed as they patted Centipeetle
