Thierry set up an eleven a side game, as there were a few people trying new positions, and as he'd said, I was playing right wing. Neymar was on the same team as me, on the left wing, and it was the first time we'd ever played a game together. His style of playing was unique, but it irked me that this was a training match, and I was supposed to be getting a feel for the right hand side, not watching Neymar score goals.

"Alright," I complained to him. "We get it, you can score goals. But if you want to do all the work today, why don't you try right wing instead, at least one of us will be learning something."

He shrugged, looking at me blankly.

"I don't always need you, so it's no point me passing to you when I can do better myself."

I raised an eyebrow at him, feeling annoyed.

"One man team, are we?"

"No," he responded. "I just said I'm better than you, which is true."

"Even if you are, that doesn't justify it," I glared at him. "Do you hear yourself right now?"

Neymar smirked.

"Well that's why you got the position change and not me," he shrugged.

I felt anger bubbling inside me towards him. What happened to the guy I was joking around with not thirty minutes ago?

"Just shut up man," Hector came to my defence. "You don't say stuff like that."

"Why, cause she's a girl?" Neymar laughed.

"No, cause she's a human being," Hector retorted.

We stared at one another.

"I cannot believe you just said that," I said to him, feeling my fists clench in an attempt to control my anger. "What happened to you? We were just talking normally and now you're being all egotistical."

At this point, Thierry stepped in and separated us.

"Watch it, both of you," he glared at both Neymar and I. "You're a team, for pity's sake. Stop acting like two year olds."

"How am I getting in trouble for this?!" I exclaimed in indignation.

"Nia," he warned me. "Don't push it. I don't want to bench you both for your first BPL game of the season, but I will if you keep acting up."

We returned to our game in the same positions as before. Alexis was on the opposing team, hence he only caught the end of the argument, being up the other end of the pitch, but he shot me a concerned look. I gave him a smile, to say that I was okay, but Neymar's words still shocked me. Even if they were true, I never expected him to say so in such a way. And his sexist comment was uncalled for. It crossed my mind that perhaps he was taking his jealousy out on me. Whatever his reasoning, he had crossed a line, and much to my annoyance, I felt hurt. I really did like him a lot, but if this was how he was as a team member, I felt that my opinion of him would soon change.

Hector drove us home after practice, and whilst he and Granit chatted away happily, I sat in the back seat, and stared out the window. I heard none of their conversation, too lost in my own thoughts as my mind replayed the events of today.

"I need advice, you guys," I finally turned towards them.

"Is this about Neymar?" Asked Hector, eyeing me in the rear view mirror.

"I still can't believe he said that," Granit muttered.

"Yeah, it was so strange, we were joking around not long before that, and he even said he spoke with Alexis and they were fine now. But it was like a switch flipped inside him, and he became a different person."

"Could you have said anything to make him turn on you?" Asked Granit. "Or maybe something happened with Alexis that you missed."

"I don't think I said anything," I mused. "If anything, I should be the one to get mad at him, since I got landed with the position change. And I guess it could have been Alexis, but he was up the other end of the field when we started arguing."

"Yeah, he looked so confused, I don't think it was him," Hector added.

"Anyway," I sighed, "I want to know if you think I should try and talk to Neymar, or just leave him alone."

"Talk to him," said Hector, immediately.

"Leave him alone," said Granit, at the same time.

They both looked at each other.

"What?" Hector exclaimed. "They got pretty close, they should definitely talk it out, or she'll loose his friendship."

"Nah, I think he's just reacting badly to what happened between you," said Granit. "This could be his way of distancing himself from you, until he gets over you. If you go after him now you'll both get hurt, and Alexis will get dragged into it too. I think you need to give him time."

"Well you two aren't much help," I chuckled.

"This all hinges on what kind of guy Neymar is," Hector said. "None of us know him well enough for that. I guess it's up to you, hermanita. But you've heard what we think."

I smiled at his referring to me as little sister.

"Maybe I'll sleep on it. Thanks guys, I'm sorry to drag you into all of this."

"Hey, we care about you, Alright?" Granit turned to smile at me.

"And you help us with relationship problems too!" Hector added, and we laughed.

Poor Hector had had his fair share of problems with Sarai, but to the credit of both, they'd worked through everything. Granit's disposition meant his relationship came easy to him, and he'd been with the same girl since Hec and I had met him. In short, they were both qualified to give me advice, but I'd have to think about who's advice I'd take.

"You guys want to hang around this afternoon?" Hector asked us, as we arrived in our neighbourhood.

"I'm going to Lex's house, sorry," I said, feeling a smile creep onto my face at the thought of him.

"You're leaving us for him?" Hector groaned dramatically.

Granit sighed, and shook his head.

"And then there were two," he stated, solemnly.

"Oh, come off it," I laughed. "I'm actually the only one who's not in an official relationship at the moment."

"No, but you better be soon," Hector replied, as he pulled into my street. "Or I might throw something at him."

"Please don't," I laughed. "I need him alive."

"It's okay, you'll still have Neymar," he joked.

My mood changed at the mention of the hazel eyed Brazilian, and I sighed.

"Hec, it's too early for jokes, man. I'm still hurting, y'know."

"Aw, I'm sorry," he pouted, as he pulled up at my house. "Don't worry about him, it will work out in the end."

"Have fun at Lex's," Granit grinned at me.

"I will!" I smiled, grabbing my gym bag, and climbing out of the car. "Bye, love you guys!"
