Talk it out (edited)

Start from the beginning

"I know we said you could have the rest of the day off but-"

"What's going on are we being attacked?" Hunk Says looking around for immediate danger. Corans eyebrows furrow as he sighs starting his explanation over.

"No no, relax my boy. Allura just wants to see Lance for his speacilized training. Since he was the first to activate them and appears to be the most in control."

"And I figured a- how do I say it? A Beach day would be fun," The princess finishes opening the door to a lush planet.  The ground was coated in soft fuzzy moss like grass. Trees loomed high into the crystal sky.

"Suit up and then we can go."

Cheering filled the castle as the paladins tripped over each other rushing to reach the hangers.

They changed faster than ever racing out to breath in the fresh air. Lance rolled around in some grass , hunk sat smelling vibrant pink flowers, Shiro, Pidge, and Coran were lounging under a large shady tree discussing the limits of these new strange powers. Keith wandered around enjoying the views.

"Lance this could take up to a Varga before you can go... play." Allura laughed lifting the boy up from his spot on the ground.

He gave her a lopsided smile brushing the plant life from his hair. "Now I need you to work on pulling water from nothing before we move on to the easier stuff." She steps back a bit, "only to see where your skill currently lies."

"Okay," his blue eyes closed as he took a deep breath. Calmly his hands lifted from his sides and streams of water followed. Flowing gently over his gloved hands.

"Wonderful!" the princess beams a proud light to her jewel eyes. He blinks his eyes staring at the streams. He remembered the way it froze the Gallra soldiers. How terrified pidge had looked.

They froze standing in the ground like spikes. "Allura?" The Frost was spreading around his feet. The idea of hurting someone pierced his mind like a needle working it's way to his core. The ice shards quivered until suddenly someone was at his side. Awkwardly placing a hand on his shoulder and whispering words he couldn't really understand.

His breathing leveled out letting the ice melt and sink back into the ground. Lance tips his head leaning on who ever helped him out. "M sorry," he whispers.

"You did nothing wrong." The words were clearer he knew who this was.

"Keith?"

"Yeah it's me." The reply was sheepish.

The princess watched to two boys with a new curiosity. 'I haven't helped them finish the link yet. Meaning no matter how strong the bond was this feeling could only have traveled so far.'

"Keith where were you?" She asks.
He points over by Shiro. Her curiosity blooms again. "Lance, it seems your Ice responds to your fear and negative emotions." she grabbed one of his hands in her own.  "Later will you boys please meet me in the lion Hangers?" They both nod and she smiles softly.

"Alright thank you Lance. You did wonderful, your quintessence is probably the hardest to control especially being tied to something as unpredictable as water. You should be incredibly proud of how fast you are learning. Now if you're not to tired you may relax with the others." He gave a weak nod letting Keith pull him to his feet.

"Can I walk with you?"

"Sure."

Once they had reached a spot behind the rest of the group he spoke. "How did you know?"

Keith paused rolling his shoulders. "Know what?"

"That I was," Lance thought about it. "Freaking out."

"Because I felt it. I was walking by Shiro to talk about some stuff when I just heard your voice. You thought you would hurt somebody. I could just sense something was happening, so I  ran over to help." Keith brought his hand up to run his fingers through his hair. "Shiro was worried that I just left mid sentence. Do you think he felt it?"

"He couldn't have. The bond isn't finished you all should have been to far away."

"How do you know that?" Keith watched as Lance stared at him with confusion.

"Allura, she said so before asking where you were."

"No she didn't."

Lance stared into Keith's eyes searching for any hint of a lie. The red paladin then felt again the spike of worry. "Lance I'm sure the princess will explain. Relax and we can ask her about it later."

He nods sitting cross legged on the cliff. After a moment Keith joins him. "I never thanked you." Lance says after a while a smile on his face.

Keith's ears heat up, "for what?"

"For pulling me out of my own head. I think I'm starting to understand you better." unsure of what to say Keith just gives him a timid smile.

The silence is comforting.

L~ Guys this planets sun is setting.
Since the gang was lounging a foot or two behind them it wasn't long until hunk strolled up and joined them. Pidge and shiro right on his heels.

And together they watched a sunset almost identical to the one they all missed back home.
