From the moment I met you everything changed.
I knew I had to get you whatever the pain.
I had to take you and make you mine.
Josh motioned to Niall as Liam continued to sing. Once Niall went over beside the drummer, Josh nodded his head in my direction. I stopped dancing around with Ellie when I saw Niall looking my way and smiled, waving at the Irish boy. He flashed me a grin and went back to his spot while he sang, never taking his eyes off me.
“He saw you!” Ella yelled, throwing her arms around me.
After they sang stand up, they gathered back together in the center of the stage. Niall took his tux coat off (which didn’t go with Stand Up whatsoever) and loosened his tie, running his hand through his sweaty blonde hair before speaking.
“Okay guys, I need your help with something.” He said into the microphone. “Our next song is I Want and we have some lovely ladies that dance with us during it. Each boy has a partner except me because mine was taken away about five months ago.” He paused as the audience made ‘aw’ noises and I froze. “But, you see, that girl is in the audience tonight. I want to get her up on this stage to dance with me, but I don’t think she’ll do it that easily.” He looked at me with raised eyebrows.
“What are you thinking?” I mouthed with wide eyes.
He winked at me. “So if all of you would start chanting her name, I think we can get her up here. Will you guys help me?” The crowd shouted yeses at him. “Alright then. Everybody, let’s get Kora up here! Kora! Kora!”
I bit my lip and shook my head, yelling, “I can’t!” at Niall. “My mom’s somewhere in here!”
“Kora! Kora!” The audience chanted along with each of the boys.
My crew-Danielle, Raleigh, Rayna, and Bailey-came out onto the stage, joining in on the chanting.
Ella pushed me toward the stairs. “Go! Your mom can’t stop you.”
“You know what? You’re right.” I walked out of my row of seats, going up to the security guard that stood in front of the steps to the stage. “I’m Kora Benson.”
He nodded and stepped aside. “I know.”
I marched up the steps and right over to Niall, ignoring the cheers and whistling coming from the crowd as well as the people on the stage. Niall smirked at me, pure joy in his eyes.
“’Bout time you got up here,” he whispered, grabbing me around the waist and pulling me in for a hug. I was a little disappointed he didn’t kiss me, but I understood his reason. If we kissed the whole arena was likely to go into a frenzy.
I smiled up at him when he let me go. “It’s about time you showed up here. Sure took you long enough.”
He rolled his bright blue eyes, chuckling. “Still the same old Red.”
“You bet!”
He chuckled again before turning me around to face everyone. “Kora Benson everyone!”
The audience exploded again as I waved, causing me to giggle. I turned back to my boyfriend, giving him another hug before the other boys demanded turns. When Harry embraced me he ruffled my hair and mumbled, “Nice shirt,” in my ear which made me blush because I forgot I had the shirt on that Niall sent me.
After the boys, my dance crew all group hugged me, nearly knocking me over in the process. Danielle had tears in her eyes when she grabbed me, saying, “I missed you so much.”
I buried my face in her neck, feeling my own tears coming. “I missed you, too, Dani. So much.”
“Do you remember the dance?” Niall asked me when Danielle and I finally let go of each other.
“Of course.” I took off my combat boots and VIP pass and tossed them in the corner.
“Are you wearing shorts under that?” Liam questioned, gesturing to my skirt.
I snickered. “Yes, Dad.”
He nodded in approval before taking his place by Danielle. I stepped into my spot by Niall, giggling when he wiggled his eyebrows at me.
“I’ve missed your smile,” he whispered to me as Harry started singing.
It was my turn before I could respond, so I had to wait until I did my turn back into Niall before I could say what I wanted to say. “I’ve missed yours, too.”
He grinned at me, showing off his braces as he sang and I kept on dancing. It was over too quickly and before I knew it I was grabbing Niall’s tie and yanking him around to face me and just like the first time we performed this dance, I got lost in his eyes and started to lean into kiss him. He was leaning in too until the crowd broke through our moment and we stopped ourselves.
“I’m sorry,” Niall whispered, his voice raspy.
I shook my head, blinking back the tears that automatically formed. “Don’t be. I understand.” Before anything else happened that would either get me mobbed by fans or kicked out by security, I grabbed my shoes and pass and hopped off the stage, going back to my seat by Ella.
She hugged me as I sat down. “Are you okay?”
I simply nodded, looking back at the stage to see Zayn patting Niall’s shoulder as they ran off to change.
He wanted to kiss you, I reminded myself. He just doesn’t want you to get hurt by some crazy fan. I knew that’s why he stopped himself, but I still couldn’t help but feel a little hurt.
I forced myself to get over it when the boys came back out, now dressed in their typical outfits. Niall glanced my way as soon as they came out, his expression unsure. I waved at him, doing my best to give him a reassuring smile that made a relieved look show on his face.
It seemed like I blinked and the concert was over. The curtain came down and the audience roared for awhile before moving on to the meet and greet. Ella and I made our way to the door Harry had said I needed to go through, hoping that no fans followed us when we found Paul waiting there. He led us to the boys’ huge dressing room and made sure we didn’t need anything before he turned to leave.
“Hey, Pauly?” I called, fidgeting with one of Niall’s snapbacks that had been lying on the couch.
He looked over his shoulder. “Yes?”
“Where’s the meet and greet taking place at?”
“In the lobby. Why?”
“I was just wondering. Thanks.” I smiled and turned back to Niall’s hat.
Paul shrugged and left, buying my lame excuse.
“Come on,” I told Ella, tugging her away from Harry’s beanie that was carelessly thrown on the coffee table.
She pouted but let me pulled her back to the door. “Where are we going?”
“We’re crashing the meet and greet.” I poked my head out the door, making sure nobody was in the hallway before towing Ellie down it with me.
“Um, why?”
“I have a bad feeling about what Clara’s planning…”
