The Rejected Returned

Chapter 1 - the rejection

My wolf howled in my head, I came back to reality and saw everyone pointing and laughing at me, even my brother and his friends that I have known since I was a baby.

With that I ran.

I ran from the pack.

I ran from the only family member I have left.

I ran from my mate.

I ran to the pack house and packed all my things up, which were just clothes. I grabbed my key to the garage that was tapped under my bed to keep it hidden.

I got some paper and started my note, although it's not like anyone even cared,

Dear whoever is reading this,

You were probably on your way to beat me or force me to do your homework or do a job for you but I'm afraid I am not here for you.

I have had enough.

I have given up.

I stayed around to stay close to my mum and dad. But I can't do it anymore. Being rejected by my mate tipped me over the edge.

I looked after you all, I fed you, I did your homework and did your washing. I was your personal maid. But not anymore.

I will not listen to you anymore.

I have run away, from all of you. My heart is broken, my soul crushed and my wolf silent. Because of you.

To my dear brother, I hope you find peace in knowing you won't have to see my ugly face anymore; well congrats you just lost your last family member.

To my dear mate, I hope you rot in hell.

You won't ever find me again, and don't even think about looking for me.

Skylar Marks.

I ran to my garage and put all my belongings in my red Range Rover 2012 Evoque. My car was my baby, I loved it so much because it was the one thing I could call my own that wasn't brought with dirty money. I had been saving for months in a secret bank account, which still has so much left I could buy 2 mansions. Finding cash in pack members pockets really does build up over time.

I drove away until I was out of our borders, tears leaving my eyes.

I had been driving for 6 hours, I was exhausted, but with so much energy deep inside, finding a wooded area I parked my car in the trees so the cops wouldn't be able to see it and jumped out.

I ran.

I ran through the trees, my feet pounding against the earth, my hair coming out of its ponytail as it got caught on trees and the wind whipped through it. The tears that were dripping from my eyes were pushed into my hairline with the speed I was running at.

I slowed down when I came to a river surrounded by trees and flowers.

I slumped against a huge tree and cried my heart out.

Damian POV

Me, Josh, Jacob and Daniel were running through our territory like always on a Monday to check if everything was OK when we heard someone crying.

We looked at each other confused and then followed the sound until we came to the river. Scanning the area I saw a girl curled up against the large tree, her face in her hands, sobs shaking her body, her red hair messy and half out a band, her clothes hanging limp and messy on her body.

Changing from our wolves to our human selves we quickly put on the trousers we brought and stepped out so she could see us.

She tensed and looked up, she was beautiful, no make up was on her face, just tears both old and new, my heart broke for her.

"Who are you and what are you doing on my land?" I spoke clearly and sternly letting my alpha voice seep into it slightly.

"Forgive me, I did not know that this land was under control" she said getting up "I'll go" she took a step but I quickly stopped her.

"Wait!" she stopped and turned around "Who are you and what are you doing on my land?" I asked carefully.

Drawing herself up straighter she replied strongly, "I am Skylar Marks from the Moon Beam pack, I was running from my pack" she mumbled the last part so I could only just hear her.

"Why were you running away?" I asked carefully.

"Because I was treated like SH*T there. My mum and dad died; my pack turned against me, beating me daily and treating me like a slave; my brother hated me; my mate rejected me! I couldn't stay there, I have given up, it was run away or kill myself, I chose to run away and if it didn't work I would go to my mums and dads grave and kill myself there with them next to me" she said fiercely and then punching the tree next to her, it was not very big but very tough and her hand immediately went though and came out the other side.

"OH MY GOD!!!" she cried looking shocked, she pulled her hand back "I'm so sorry, but I never thought I was that strong '' she muttered to herself looking at the hole.

"It doesn't matter" I said looking at her in shock.

"Sorry, well I better go" she said looking at her feet, she went to walk away again when I spoke

"Where are you going?!" I asked

"Nowhere...Anywhere..." she replied

"Why did you tell me all of that if you are going to leave?" I asked

"Because I'm not staying here and...... I dunno, I had to let it out"

"well what if I took you back to your old pack?" I said

She froze and turned to me "No" she whispered "No, don't make me go back" she cried as she collapsed in a heap "Please!! Kill me, torture me, do anything to me just don't make me go back!" she cried.

I walked over to her and pulled her into my arms "Hey, hey it's ok I won't take you back, you can come live with me and my pack if you want until you are ready to leave and know where you're going" I said calmly

"Are you sure?" she asked timidly

"Very, now come on" I said standing up and offering her my hand, she grabbed my hand and I pulled her up and we started walking.

"WAIT!" she cried "MY BABY!! I CAN'T LEAVE MY BABY!!" she cried and ran towards the road, me, Daniel, Jacob and josh looked at each other in shock.

"SHE HAS A BABY?!?" we cried at once and ran after her. When we found her she was hugging a car and kissing it promising to never leave it again.

"What are you doing?" I asked unsure

"This is my baby and I almost forgot about her" she said firmly then turned back to the car "Mummy's sorry baby, I never meant to leave you, I will never do it again" she said then kissed the bonnet and climbed in.

"I am not leaving my baby so either get in and tell me where to go or I will leave now" she said.

We climbed in and gave her the directions to the pack house.
