Navigating the roads for something with her eyes, Namjoo supposed it was her turn to break the news. "I broke up with him."
Silence.
When she looked up at Sehun he quickly mumbled, "I'm sorry."
He probably did not mean it, but she hadn't expected him to give her his sympathy. Turning at the end of the block they headed back toward her apartment. This late in the evening someone was barbequing steak outside. The scent of smoked beef permeated the air strongly igniting her sense of hunger.
"At least you have a job now," Namjoo encouraged. "And Young, he's a good person. He'll help you if you need it."
"Did you love him?"
Looking once more at Sehun she turned away. "Yea." Eyes on the ground she allowed herself to travel back a few miles into her memory. "He brought me an umbrella when it was raining. When I was lonely he talked with me. We sometimes sat at the café people watching, making up stories about other people's lives. He laughed with me, so I wouldn't be sad. We had three years to ourselves."
"I'm jealous of someone who came second to me," Sehun said, "but Namjoo..." he stopped, shifted toward her. Tilting her head back to look at him she waited for him to finish. Cupping her face, he leaned forward to kiss the corner of her mouth and edged back very slowly. Her heart pounced into her rib cage when his warm breath bounced off her face. "I'm still waiting for you."
Their eyes met, his shining dreamily. She saw the want there and didn't really sleep that night.

Sehun was led to his desk on his first day, given assignments, and walked through company policies. Nothing challenging in his dictionary. He was optimistic about smooth days ahead and prayed a dozen times that he would not run into Young during his time there.
"Sehun."
Stopping in his tracks Sehun cursed his luck. Turning around with a smile, Sehun said, "Young, I didn't expect to see you."
"Going to the lower garage for your car?" Young asked joining him.
"Yes."
Punching the button for the elevator, Young wondered, "First day?"
"Yes."
"How is it going? Not too hard, I assume?"
"No. It's manageable."
"Well, that's good," Young grinned. The door whished open and they stepped in. As silence permeated the air Sehun started feeling tense. The man seemed to jolly for someone who just broke up with his girlfriend of three years. Maybe he was just really good at splitting up his personal and work life? Sehun hoped that must be it.
Once the door opened Sehun breathed a discreet sigh of relief. "Well, then, I'll see you around." Hurriedly stepping out of the elevator he started toward his car.
Young didn't follow. Sehun mentally wiped his sweat. And then, "We should talk."
Slowly stopping in his steps, Sehun damned himself. Feigning stupidity, he turned around with an innocent smile, "Why?"
"What are you exactly?" Young hotly demanded, his eyes stern, brows pulled down. His expression was as dark as his lips were stiff.
"I don't know what you're saying," Sehun said.
Glaring, "Why'd you come here?"
Sehun pursed his lips together. As much as he disliked the man he didn't want to brawl with him.
