We got passed the first three seasons by the time it was 12:00. However, we weren't sleep deprived just yet. Both of us decided we were too lazy to change clothes. Snacks were scattered around us and the lights were dimmed, so one of us probably ate something that wasn't food.
Hours passed and I could feel Y/N drift off to sleep on my shoulder. Smiling, I closed my laptop that was heating the blanket and set down on the floor.
Y/N's head fell off my shoulder and landed on one of the pillows. The bed was a little small, but we found a way to both fit comfortably in it without kicking each other. It didn't take long for my eyes to get heavy. Part of me wanted to stay up longer since it was a weekend, but I was out like a light minutes after my head hit the pillow.
THUMP
My eyes shot open and I was immediately awake. Looking down, I saw Y/N on the floor holding the back of her head and silently cursing to herself.
"Y/N are you okay!?" I yelled just above a whisper. "What happened?" My voice was frantic, but she didn't seem to care.
"Relax, I just fell off the bed and hit my head on some Lays chips." She winced as she rubbed the back of her head again, "Except the bag was empty."
"I didn't kick you, did I? Fuck, it's my fault isn't it?"
Y/N quickly stood up. "Hey, calm down, you're fine. I just fell off."
She sat against the bed, leaning back on a pillow. "I'll just sleep on the floor. I'll just fall off the bed again."
I got up from my bed and set my pillow down next to her.
"I don't want you to sleep there just because of me." I said as I followed her actions and scooted next to her. "You can have the bed, I kick a little in my sleep sometimes."
"No, it's fine, Connor. Really."
Lying back down on my pillow I grabbed, I say, "I'm not leaving then."
Y/N took a blanket from my bed and tossed it over us. "Neither am I."
The floor wasn't too uncomfortable. I stared at the ceiling, waiting for sleep to take over me. When I turned to check on the clock resting on my table, it read 4:33.
It's only been about an hour after I closed my laptop.
"Con?" Y/N sighed. "Are you asleep?" She turned to look at me and I met her gaze.
"Wide awake." I reply. No conversation happened between us. We just awaited sleep or some kind of fatigue.
"Damn, it's cold in here." She mumbled. I could see her grabbing the oversized hoodie and she slipped in on before laying back down. Y/N shifted a bit closer to me until she was almost using the same pillow as me.
"Still cold?"
"Just a little."
I moved closer to her so we were basically cuddling. It wasn't as awkward as I thought. "My dad probably lowered the temperature." I explained.
"That's okay," Y/N said, "Apparently the cold can help with sleep." She paused, "I don't think sleep is coming anytime soon though." Sighing, she rested head on the crook of my neck. "You're really warm."
"Thanks..?"
"Oh my god, that sounded weird I'm sorry. Is this uncomfortable?" She asked. I shook my head, and some of the anxiousness melted away.
"I can't believe that bursting your door open and screaming at you led to this."
Y/N said. "Pretty weird."I laughed softly. Honestly, cuddling with Y/N wasn't bad or awkward. Neither of us pulled away, and we didn't want to. The moon was our only light which made everything a little dark but nice and calm. I wasn't confused or angry and I wasn't too anxious.
"Connor."
I turned to look at Y/N, "What's up?"
She scooted a little farther so she could see my face clearly through the dark. I was almost lost in her eyes when she finally spoke.
"Twenty questions. I'm thinking of someone that I.." Y/N stopped, "I really like. A lot."I raised my eyebrows, "Seriously?"
"Seriously."
Our version of "Twenty Questions" didn't even involve questions, just assumptions.
"Okay.." I thought about it, "They go to our school."She nodded, "Yep. Nineteen."
"You're friends with them."
"Yea. Eighteen." Her smile grew.
I feel like I know where this is going. Thoughts rushed through my mind. What if Y/N is talking about me? But maybe I'm not her only friend. What if she is, though?
"Is it Jared Klienman..?" I asked slowly.
"Nope. Seventeen." Y/N coughed as she popped the 'p' at the end. "Absolutely not."
I couldn't help but feel relieved. "Okay um, they.. They're in Mr. Kane's class with you."
Her lips formed a smile as she responded with "Yes. Sixteen."
I decided to take another shot.
"They're tall and they have brown hair."Her smile grew, "Yea, fifteen."
Is this going in the direction I think it's going?
I started to stammer a little. "Uh-um, do they have a sister..?"
She nodded. "Mhm. Fourteen."
Holy shit.
Holy. Fucking. Shit.
"Are they in this room?"
"Yep. Thirteen." Y/N giggled, "I'm gonna be shocked as fuck if you don't get this."
Her eyes shimmered as I asked the next question.
"Is it m-me...?"
She smiled and breathed softly.
"Yea."
A/N: heyo hi wassup
so.. chrome extensions, amirite? they're fricken awesome.
kay so there's this chrome extension called InteractiveFics, and what it does is replace "Y/N" with another name. so instead of seeing "Y/N" you can see your name or others and you have the option to change it. the extension works on wattpad and probably other fanfic sites. (is that a good explanation?? idkkkkkkk)
the extension will NOT work if you are reading from a mobile app.
i found the extension on the chrome webstore on google chrome. to find it, go to the search bar and type InteractiveFics and it should come up. there's a better description for it on there lol. i really suggest checking it out if you're sick of seeing "Y/N" and other variations.
