"I know you're all confused, but I have called you here today for a very, very important matter." The figure clasped his silken-clad arms together. His limbs seemed to be longer and more lithe than any mouse's, and his body a little taller, though he did not seem to be disproportionate; underneath his cloak, he was shaped by a rodent. Many of his features still seemed obscured, save for the very tip of his snout and his paws. Prismaz vaguely noted that they were almost grey in color, tinged with lavender.
"You're wondering where you are. You're in a specially procured map made by my magic. Here, there is no cheese, or mouse hole, or timer, or goal of any sort. Rooms like this are rather difficult to manage in a region like this. Be grateful on the amount of spells I've invested in you lot."
The mysterious cloaked figure dragged a wet tongue over his lips, fingered time string that tied his hood together. "You'll notice that some of the other rats from your rooms have not appeared here with you. That's because you were all specially selected." The figure made a grand gesture to the rest of the room. "And you all weren't chosen because you had something that others didn't, believe it or not. You were chosen because you were found lacking!"
What? Call her stupid, but that did not make any sense to Prismaz. Why would they be brought her if they didn't have anything of value? Of course, Prismaz could think of a few reasons, but each possibility just left her more confused.
"You lot have one thing in common. To put it in the simplest way, you are all noobs. Inexperienced. Unless in society's eyes."
Prismaz has to admit, his words had some truth to them. But his presence still made her uneasy. What was he planning?
"Which is why I've brought you here today. To offer the very things that you don't have. The very things that that would make you revered."
Prismaz could tell that got everyone's attention. To be honest, it did get her's too, but something was fishy about this. She wasn't sure if she could trust a mysterious sponsor who had the gall to hide themselves out of view with a cape. She couldn't see his nametag either. He didn't have one.
But the others did.
Two stepped forward, two who went by the name of Sadroy and Echiba. The crowd parted like a sea for them, and the two noobs stared definitely into the stranger's eyes- or are least, where they assumed his eyes were.
"How should we trust you?" Sadroy spoke. "What's the catch?"
The cloaked figure seemed ecstatic. If she could see his face, Prismaz would be sure that he was grinning.
"There is no catch," He waved a skinny paw. "All I want is for you to accept my gift. You don't have to trust me. Just take what I've given you and flaunt it."
This time, it was Echoba who spoke. His voice was a deep rumble. "At the expense of being found and reported to the mods? And how do we know this isn't some bad, shitty prank?"
The masked rodent's response was instant. "I can show you."
Prismaz wasn't sure what she was expecting, but next thing she knew, the mystery mouse was whipping out a staff.
How he managed to hide that under his robe, she wasn't sure. But the light that emanated from the top of the cane. It was so bright and radiant that it seemed as if it's luminosity could fight with the room's artificial moon.
She also felt intensely drawn towards it, like something in her heart was tugging her forward in it's direction. Confused and unwilling to see what such a stone could do to her, Prismaz hesitantly backed away.
"Oh, and," The creature drawled, pointing the tip of the staff towards Echoba as the other mouse stumbled away from the teal glow with surprise. "You might wanna check your stats after this."
