My tears stopped mixing when I turned to see who it was who saved me from drowning in my thoughts.
"J-Jean?"
He gave me a small smile that faded immediately before asking me.
"Why are walking in the rain?" He asked with concern. "Are you looking for a disease?"
I shook my head, trying to hide the tears using the rain. "I'm... I'm-" but I failed, instead I turned my back and ran away from him.
"(Y/n)!" I heard Jean call and was caught by his force.
My tears were falling but I restrained sobbing.
"(Y/n)... what's wrong?" Jean asks and turns me only for him to finally figure out my pain by the means of my blood shot red eyes. "W-why are you crying?"
I shook my head and walked away from him being soaked in the rain again... but he was Jean. And Jean would never let his comrade fight alone.
The raindrops falling on my head stopped again and the umbrella that covered me came back over my head.
"(Y/n)... are you ok?"
I didn't faced him instead shook my head. I was about to escape from him again but I failed.
Jean moved in front of me and hugged me. Once I have realized the contact, the warmth he gave made me give in. I sobbed on his chest. It's fine. He doesn't see me cry anyway... he just hear me.
It's fine.
"Everything's gonna be fine." His voice rings on my head.
It's really him. The one I met back on my high school days didn't changed. He's still caring but didn't showcase too much in public.
Yes, were outside but there's no people outside the village will decide to stroll in the middle of storm.
I nodded and gripped on his jacket, crying. He caressed my head but let me go immediately.
I thought he just made me feel better but the next thing he did isn't really like him.
"You're soaked," he took off his jacket and hanged it on me. "You'll catch a cold if we stay here."
'You'll catch a cold if we stay for too long.'
I remembered him...
No.
"(-/n)..."
"....re you listening?"
I looked up to him from the ground and nodded, wiping my damp cheeks.
"I'll walk you home." Jean proposed and pulled me closer to share his umbrella.
The whole walk wasn't awkward but no one of us dares to speak until we had arrived. I opened the gates and we entered. When I stepped inside, Jean stayed on the front door holding his umbrella.
I raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you coming in?"
He shook his head. "I'll go ahead, I just want to make sure you'll get home safely..."
Jean turned his back and begun walking to my gates when I rolled my eyes before clinging my finger on his shirt and got poured by rain again.
He stopped to see me.
"It's raining hard," I spoke softly. "Stay until the storm passes..."
He sighed and ruffled my hair. "Fine."
Then he folded the transparent savior and put it inside the umbrella rack before heading inside.
I realize I was still wearing his jacket. My floor becomes slippery due to our wet shoes.
