My head swims with information of my mate. Content, I left his office. It was shocking to me to hear she was raised by a werewolf mother and a hunter father, even more so when I was informed she was trained by hunters to kill her own kind. She could have easily done it, just block out the world and pull the trigger. But her heart wouldn't let her.

I could understand her connection to Harry and Will. They were no threat, they were just her family. That was when I remembered something, everyone looked drained and upset when we had first arrived, however, when my mate woke up from her state, the whole pack seemed to become more lively and thriving.

Does she really have such an effect on the people here? Everyone seems to love her dearly here. So far, I have not heard anyone in this pack speak ill of her.

"You know, I bet Amy will be a Luna someday." A little boy loudly stated. Briefly, I glanced over to see him gossiping with a girl who appeared around her age.

"I agree! I bet that if Alpha Sam didn't find Merida, she would be the stand in Luna for this pack!" The little girl agreed. My heart swelled with adoration for my mate. Even the children love her.

Nick was wrong. Amy is completely capable of being the Luna to our Lycan pack. She not only has werewolf genes but hunters genes as well. She trained with hunters and she still trains with her brothers - much to the Alpha's protest - which means she is stronger than any werewolf Alpha. Even Sam admitted he would rather hand his pack to her than fight her for it because he values his life so much.

She is the strongest warrior here, yet she isn't even a warrior. Just an incredibly strong she-wolf with a Luna's heart. I feel proud that my mate isn't like other she-wolves, although I would have accepted her if she were either the strongest or the weakest.

I soon found myself in the entry to the kitchen and froze in my place. My mate was standing by the stove, chopping vegetables. Her dark, ebony hair was pulled back into a high ponytail with some stray strands falling to frame her face. A delighted smile painted her face as her eyes danced with mirth.

That was when I noticed she had flour on her cheek, in her hair, on her apron and her arms. I glanced around the kitchen to see another woman cleaning down the kitchen island with a wet towel, she too was covered in flour.

"Honey, how is the cake?" The older woman asks over her shoulder. My mate bends down, opening the oven door and peeking inside before slamming it shut with a shake of her head.

"At least ten more minutes Marlene." My mate responds. "Are you sure we got any flour on the cake?"

"I'm not sure. It all seems to be all over the kitchen, no thanks to you." The older woman, Marlene says, with a hint of playfulness in her tone.

"How am I to blame? If I remember correctly you were teasing me about-" Amy turns and her eyes widen as she sees I'm standing in the doorway watching them. I smile at her. "My mate..." She trails off.

"Amelia dear, are you-" The woman turns and freezes when she sees me. "Is this?" The woman asks, her eyes flitting to Amy.

"Uh huh." My mate responds.

"Hi," I say, giving them both a little wave. "Sorry to intrude." My mate smiles widely at me and ushers me to come inside.

"Marlene, this is Mike, my mate. Mike, this is Marlene, she's the chef here at the pack house. I often come here to help. Marlene is like an adorable grandma." She says cheerfully, wrapping her arms around the woman's shoulders.

Marlene swatted her hands away and gave her a mock scolding look. "I'm that old, child. Just remember who you're talking to. If you want to keep having warm, delicious meals I suggest you act more kindly towards me before you call me a grandmother." The woman retorts.

I smile as my mate hurriedly apologies and pulls the woman in for a large hug. It was hard to believe that just an hour an ago she was shouting at me and storming away when here she is now smiling and laughing.

"So." Marlene begins as she pulls away from Amy and fixes her gaze on me with a smile. "You're Amelia's mate?"

"Yes," I say proudly, looking over to my mate to find her smiling at us.

"Oh. Wonderful. A bit of advice for you, Lycan. If you dare hurt her, or make feel unwanted, unloved, unsafe or even broken; then I swear to you, I will hunt you down and I will kill you." She threatened, her sweet smile didn't waver once. I gulped.

"That's okay by me. I already love her." I say proudly.

"Love me?" Amy scoffs. Her beautiful disappearing as she scowls at me. "You don't even know me."

"Au contraire," I say. "Your nose scrunches up a little when you get angry. When something catches your eye you stare at it from the corner of your eye. Your smiles are always genuine, you can't fake them."

"That's small things. You don't know a single thing about me." She growls as she turns away to stir the pots boiling on the stove.

"Amelia, perhaps you should let him in so he does know more about you. What are you scared about happening? That you'll fall in love?" Marlene asks her sincerely, cautiously placing a comforting hand on Amy's shoulder but Amy just shrugs her hand off.

"No. I'm not scared of falling in love. Of scared of turning out like my mother." She barks. She quickly unties her apron and throws it on the kitchen island. "Marlene, you know my story. So does the entire pack. You know I don't want to relive my past. It hurts. So even if I wanted to let him, I couldn't." With that, she turns on her heel and walks out.

Sighing, I sit down on one of the kitchen stools. Propping my elbow on the kitchen island, I rest my forehead on my palm. She's hurting, she can't confide in me because she doesn't want to relive her pain of that night.

I want to help her. I want to chase after her and tell her I know about her past. I want to hold her and tell her that everything is okay. But right now, I think it is best if I just let her alone. If I go to her right now, she would push me away and I would be even further away from getting her to accept me.

I look to the woman who was giving me a soft smile. She ushered me to go follow after her. With that boost of confidence, I raced after my mate. I followed her scent all the way to her room where I found her slamming her door shut after her.

Gathering my courage, I took a step forward to go to her but held back when I saw Harry walk in without knocking.

Oooo what do we think Harry is doing with our queen b*tch in her room?

In other news my pretties, I've been working on my other stories that I've been typing up because after two months time, I'm afraid that Compelled By The Moon will be over. But of course there's more plot twists and action than you can imagine. As well as heart break and pain.
