A/N:
Yo. So, my index finger got kind of infected of something and I can't feel it at all so if you guys find more mistakes in this chapter than usual, I apologize. Other than that, I hope you guys enjoy chapter eleven of Unlikely Savior. (I kind of changed the plot line of the story so the title is pretty pointless now but it's too late to change it so oops.)

*Phil’s POV*
The weekend was quick to come and before I knew it I was getting ready for the party that was going on. It was already about an hour into the party but like Dan taught me, I decided on showing up late. I told Sarah I’d pick her up since she only lived about two houses from the house where the party was located.
Honestly, I wasn’t nervous what so ever about tonight. Ever since the night where Dan stood up for me, people were much more welcoming around me. It was probably due to the fact that they noticed Dan no longer had anything towards me so they took that as a sign that it was okay to talk to me. And, even though Dan sort of punched me in the face and called me a fag in front of everyone, I was sure some people would still welcome me.
Though I had to admit, I was sort of scared about seeing Dan. Ever since the conversation I had with Sarah, all of my thoughts lead down to Dan. No matter what, the name always came flowing back into my mind.
It wasn’t like I minded thinking about him, though. After some thought, I did realize that my feelings for him didn’t necessarily go away. But what I was really worried about was seeing Dan with Emma. It was obvious that they were going together and Dan was bound to get drunk, so who knew what was bound to happen.
Just as I finished up with the last bit of my hair, the same way Dan did it for me, my phone rang. “Hello?” I held the phone between my ear and shoulder as I slipped on my clothing. “Hey Phil, are you coming?” Sarah sounded a bit worried over the speaker. She was always the one to worry with timing but I only giggled slightly at her concern. “Yeah, I’ll be there in ten,” I chirped before hanging up the phone and dashing out the house with my keys.
After a few minutes of walking the house the party was at came into view and I spotted Sarah sitting on her doorstep. “Hey, you ready?” I smiled as I walked up to her. She returned the smiled and nodded before hooking her arm into mine and strutting down to the house.
As we arrived I already spotted one or two people far gone on the grass of the yard. The two of us chuckled and shook our heads as we walked up to the door. But, just as I was about to knock, another hand landed on the door before mine, knocking three or four times.
I turned to look and my eyes widened as I spotted the brown fringed boy looking back at me. “Dan,” I spoke nonchalantly with a blank expression as he stepped back a bit. “Phil,” he mimicked my tone, the same look in his eyes, “What are you doing here?”
“Sarah invited me,” I gestured towards Sarah, her arm still linked with mine and her head on my shoulder, “Why?” Dan glared down at Sarah with a look of what I almost assumed was jealousy but looked back at me before I could read further into it. “Just thought you’d be studying your ass off for nothing,” Dan let his cocky smirk slide across his lips, “Or watching some sort of documentary about elephants.” “Well, I always wanted to meet your mother,” I reflected Dan’s look and he immediately frowned. He shook his head and was just about to reply before someone swung open the door.
“Let’s go Danny,” Emma rolled her eyes, shooting me a warning look, as she pulled Dan’s arm towards the inside of the house. Dan quickly glanced back at me as if he was sorry but immediately changed his stare as Sarah cuddled more into my shoulder.
“Might as well tease him a bit if he’s going to be a dick,” Sarah chuckled when he was out of hearing range. “You’re one smart cookie, aren’t you?” I grinned as she shrugged before dragging me into the house as well.

After about two hours, I had lost Sarah somewhere in the house to some guy who wanted to dance with her. I maneuvered my way into the kitchen and fixed myself a glass of water, not really in the mood to have any alcohol. I watched everyone around me in their own drunken states and laughed to myself.
Only about two minutes passed before the known brunette boy came stumbling into the room. I rolled my eyes in disappointment but also couldn’t help but smile a bit. He was honestly so adorable when he was drunk, his cheeks flustering and hair being a bit messy.
“Thanks God I finally got away from that monster,” he groaned as he struggled to get over to my side from across the room. I watched him in amusement as he toppled from side to side. He was far over, probably having about ten bottles of some form of alcohol.
Eventually, after several attempts of him trying to get to me, he fell over and slammed to the ground. I gasped and quickly rushed over to him, helping him sit up. “Jesus Christ Dan!” I grabbed the bottle he was holding from his hand, “Are you okay?”
He slightly nodded and pushed himself against the wall and leaned his head back. I sighed a bit and smiled as I repositioned myself next to him. I watched him miserably compose himself before he turned his head towards mine.
“Hey there,” he slurred and smiled a bit as I shook my head and looked back at him. “You’re a mess,” I laughed as he giggled along with me before we fell into silence and just looked into one another’s eyes. His eyes lightened as he stared into mine and I turned slightly red, feeling relieved he was too drunk to notice.
He suddenly tore his gaze from my eyes and trailed them down to my lips. I shifted slightly as I watched him focus onto them and cleared my throat a bit. “What happened to us, Phil?” he spoke up, not breaking his eye contact with my lips, “We were so close and then I fucked things up. Why did I have to do that?”
“Because you’re an idiot, Dan,” my slight smile dissipated, “You freaked out for no reason and now we’re here.” Dan didn’t break his stare from my lips but his face flooded with guilt. “I’m so-”
“No Dan,” I interrupted him right when I knew what was about to come out of his mouth. “Look, this was also partially my fault; I shouldn’t have made such an appearance. But, that gave you no right to punch me and call me a fag.”
Dan immediately looked up to my eyes and turned even redder than before. “Dan, you’re a good person and I know that but if you have to get drunk to apologize then don’t even bother trying,” I sighed before getting up and looking down at him, “I need to go find Sarah.” And with that, I rushed away from the room, my heart beating uncontrollably. Why did I have to be so stubborn? Why couldn’t I just have sucked it up and forgiven him?
