A Shinobi's Instinct

Start from the beginning

Everyone stood up quickly not wanting to know what the punishment would be. Harry, Ron and Hermione all ran towards the lake, which was on the opposite side of where they were. Harry couldn't see Kakashi through the horde of students.

Everyone arrived at the lake exhausted, some students were laying down on the cool grass panting. Kakashi had beat everyone, waiting right next to Minato Sensei. Harry didn't know how that was possible, unless he used the same technique as Minato Sensei.

"You guys are lucky compared to the other classes because you will all have a better demonstration of what you will be learning. Kakashi will not be participating as a student, but as my aid. Now, I already know that you are all capable of learning one of the three fighting styles. The other two, I'm not so sure of. I don't know how a wizards body compares to a Shinobi's body. The first thing you shall learn is Taijutsu, or to your understanding, hand to hand combat."

There was a collection of gasps from the group, and one or two groans.

"But Minato Sensei, students are not allowed to fight in such matter, or any matter at all." Hermione said.

"That didn't seem to stop Mr. Malfoy. Besides, as I said before, I was given permission by Professor Dumbledore to teach anything I wanted. So again, if you find that my style of teaching is disturbing or against school policy, then that is your problem." He said with a smile that sent shivers down their backs.

"Kakashi and I shall demonstrate these 3 fighting styles one at a time. The first being Taijustu, the second Ninjustu, and the third is Genjustu. For the demonstration I suggest that you back up, unless you want to get hurt." Minato said.

Once Minato was sure that the class was a safe distance away he motioned for Kakashi to get into position.

Minato Sensei and Kakashi were about 5 feet away from each other, a third of the distance that wizards use to duel. Harry noticed that there was no respectful bow or any sign that the fight had commenced. Minato ran towards Kakashi at a an inhuman speed, Harry felt worried that Kakashi wouldn't be able to keep up, however, as soon as Minato reached out to strike, Kakashi barley moved half a foot to avoid the blow. Reaching out to grab Minato's arm in a tight grip. Kakashi pulled Minato's weight down to propel himself up into the air. Kakashi tucked in his body to increase his velocity, sticking his leg out to crush Minato with the force of the imact. But before Kakashi could make the hit, Minato lunged backwards a couple yards.

Harry didn't know how someone could jump or push their body to such great distances. It all seemed impossible. Kakashi and Minato were now locked in close combat, each throwing a kick or punch in fluid motion, all while being able to evade the others attack. Of what he could tell, only a few hits made there mark. They were both quick in their movements, Harry and the others could barely keep up with the fight. They looked like two fast blurs, the only sound he could hear was paced, heavy breathing and the occasional sound of flesh hitting flesh.

The battle continued that way for a few more minutes, when all of a sudden both parties drew out weapons. Harry saw they were small hand crafted knives, that fit awkwardly in the hand. Hermione gasped as they clashed together, the sound of the two blades ringing in their ears. Minato managed to cut a deep gash in Kakashi's right bicept, blood poured out of the wound onto the vibrant green grass. Kakashi moved his blade to his left hand, unable to fully use the right. Harry didn't think that the scrimmage would get so violent, he also didn't expect it to be so thorough. He thought that it would be a slow, simple demonstration, not an all out war!

The fight between Kakashi and Minato ended in a flash, Kakashi had his blade firmly pressed up against Minato Sensei's throat, a drop of blood slowly slid down his neck, while his arm was locked in Kakashi's grip behind his back.
