"Ma" Mekai gasped a little
"Boy I'm grown" she fanned him off
"Now why would you go and do something stupid like that?" his dad asked
"I was drunk...It was an honest mistake. But she ain't tryna' hear that. She asked for space, so I'm gonna give her that."
"She's pregnant with your child, dummy. You don't just let her be mad" his mom said
"How'd you know she was pregnant?"
"Me and Sylvia talk everyday"
"None of that matters now. She's getting an abortion"
"What?" They both asked
"Why you just saying it like it's nothing?" She asked
"It's her body, I can't force her to keep it" he shrugged
"You can't force her to keep it, but you can try to change her mind." His dad said
"Yeah, maybe she's just overwhelmed right now. She could be making the wrong decision based off of her anger." Joyce said
"You need to go talk to her"
"I-"
"We ain't raise no quitter. Go talk some sense into that girl"
"And if talking don't work, just hold her tight. Sometimes that's all it takes" his mom said, walking him to the door
"Ok, thanks y'all"
"Yeah nigga, hurry up and make things right" Clinton said
Mekai rushed over to Sylvia's house and banged on the door "Kyla! Open up"
Sylvia answered the door with tears in her eyes "Mekai, what are you doing here?"
"I need to speak to Kyla." He peeked in the house
"Kyla's not here" she wiped her eyes "She's on her way to the abortion clinic"
"What? No, she can't." He shook his head "You know where it's at?"
"The one on Orange St"
"Ok, thanks" he ran and got in his car
At the clinic, Kyla was reading through a pamphlet. She was more nervous than ever, but remained seated.
No matter what you're going through, don't take the chance of that child having a better life.
She pushed her mother's words to the back of her mind and sat the pamphlet down. Her palms became sweaty as she fiddled with her fingers.
She watched a woman come from the back, crying her eyes out. Kyla felt a burning lump in her throat, she swallowed to keep from crying.
"Kyla Parker" the nurse came from the back
With her heartbeat thumping loudly in her ears, she stood up and headed to the back.
"Change into this and the doctor will be right with you" the nurse left out
She stared at the gown, taking a few deep breaths. She looked around the room, seeing the posters up on how they did the procedure, and so forth.
That baby didn't ask to be born. Please don't take an innocent life
"Hello Ms. Parker" the doctor came in
"I can't do this" she shook her head, looking at the sharp tools "I can't" she grabbed her purse and left out the room
She rushed to her car and quickly started it. Right now, all she wanted to do was be held by her man.
As she stopped at a red light, she tapped her fingers against the steering wheel. She was mixed with all kinds of emotions, but she was mainly excited with the decision she'd made.
Soon as the light turned green, an 18 wheeler came speeding off the highway. Crashing right into the driver's side of Kyla's car, sending it flipping down the road
