"It's a long story but we will tell you later tonight." Joel explained resting his hand on my shoulder, sending a shiver down my spine. How do Joel and City have the same effect on me?
The ride home is quiet but it's not uncomfortable, it's peaceful. When we get home Maverick unlocks and opens the door, revealing the streamers and balloons that are everywhere. I walk in further and see everyone who was previously at the hospital waiting room, they are standing in front of a banner that has 'Welcome Home Maia!!!' scrawled across it in blue, purple, and pink paint.
"Do you like it, Maia?" Hunter rocks back and forth on her feet, her brown hair in a french braid.
"You guys I love it. I've missed you guys so much you could have literally written my name on a box of pizza and I would still love it." We all giggle an move into the kitchen for sausage pizza, my personal favorite.
The room is filled with small talk while everyone stands around the kitchen island eating pizza.
"Alright attention everyone! I would like to say a couple of things." I wait until I have everyone's attention before continuing.
"I want to thank all of you for being there for me in my lowest point, even though one of you I didn't know was there" I give Joel a pointed look and he just gives me a lopsided grin to which I can't help but smile at.
"But you still were. I also want to say I'm sorry for everything I put you guys through the past couple weeks, you guys didn't deserve what I did to you." Joel saunters to behind me and snakes his arms around my waist resting his head on my shoulder.
"Hey don't worry that video was not your fault, and it put you in a bad place but all you need to do is stay healthy and accept all the love we have to offer." Avery motions to everyone in the room.
"Okay but I don't understand why that one is being so lovey, I mean it is great but you only knew each other for a day before stuff went down. Not to mention that he was essentially a block of ice." Hunter refers to Joel who is currently cradling me in his strong arms.
"I just know how special she is and how she made me feel from the very first time I saw her at the graveyard and how I almost never would have had the chance to tell her how I felt because I was so determined to be a closed off loner." Everyone's eyes widen accept for Avery and Hunter's, I'm guessing it is because of the graveyard comment. It seems like ages ago when we met.

I'd like to say that none of you are ever alone, there is always someone that is willing to listen. You should never feel pressured into doing something you don't want to. You should never feel like you owe someone sex for any reason, it is your body you choose what to do with it.
