Chapter 45: Changes

"How so?"

"Well, Annie was acting strange all of a sudden, and afterwards Ms. Falida called me to make me promise about a whole bunch of stuff, which by the way, she never does."

Erwin was silent for quite a long time, if you asked me. Finally, he gave a shrug. "Maybe it's the wind? I wouldn't think about it too much (Y/N), especially not when it's finals."

"How can the wind affect them?"

"I don't know, just don't worry about it too much. You won't be able to focus on finals."

"But what if something's wrong?" I asked, desperation beginning to sound clearly in my voice.

Once again, Erwin turned to look at me for several moments. He sighed, wrapping an arm around my shoulder, making me lean on the side of his chest.

"Everything's fine. Annie will come back around, and you'll be visiting Ms. Falida as soon as the seniors' graduation ceremony and prom is over."

This time, Erwin turned his whole body around, bringing me in a warm hug.

"You'll be fine," he murmured softly, tightening his embrace. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, inhaling his distinctive scent. It was rather strange smelling, yet gentle and calming at the same time.

I wrapped my arms around his firm abdomen, smiling into his shoulder as a sense of warmth and comfort flooded through me.

After a minute, Erwin pulled away, his expression soft as he gazed at me. I smiled at him, thankful that he had again; successfully unstressed me from a situation.

I can't thank him enough.

I walked side by side with Erwin, heading back to the dorms.

"Hey Erwin?" I asked, a question popping up in my head.

"Yes?" He looked at me.

"A few weeks back, you were away from school, weren't you?"

Erwin chuckled lightly, "That's right, I was away for a week. I had to take of some urgent business."

When he noticed I was going to ask again, he quickly added, "Personal business."

"Oh." I looked away, deciding not to pester him with anymore questions.

I stopped in front of the locked door leading to the girls' dormitories.

Erwin waved goodbye. "Later (Y/N). Remember, no stressing."

"No stressing," I repeated, giving him a thumbs up.

The blonde man smiled at me one last time, before exiting the building.

The more I look at Erwin, the more I realised how much he's changed the past few months.

Usually, he was distant with everyone, only stepping in when he feels that he's needed. Nowdays, he's more active, talking and bonding more and more with everyone.

Hanji, the most. The two of them talk more than ever before, and Erwin looks a lot more comfortable when he's with her.

I know Hanji likes Erwin. No, not from my analysis, but from that time she accidentally blurted it out to me and Petra.

Clearly, Erwin's also showing interest in the titan-freak. It would be amazing to see them ending up together.

I clicked open my door, greeted by Petra playing on her phone.

"Phones off, it's study session."

Petra rolled her eyes. "Okay, mom."

I clicked my tongue, getting the books I need for studying prepared.

It would be my dream to see Erwin and Hanji get together.

But, dreams don't always come true.

One week, one chapter.

Even that schedule is proving to be a struggle for me.

The school orientation, was hell for me. Then there's still the Scouts orientation. And as fun as having a bonfire is, I would be exhausted to the bone.

Normal school will be even worse.

Setting aside all the homework and projects, we have a 5 day school.

We have to be on school grounds by 6:00 am, and we go home at 4:30 pm.

About 10 hours in school. What a goddamn pain.

Saturday isn't exactly a holiday either. We still have to attend at school for club activities, which by the way, every student must have one.

So, even though I'm sad to say this, the schedule will remain as it is.

Updates every Monday.

At least I managed to get in the highest ranking class :"D

So, no changes in update schedule.

The story will finally be taking the next step.
