"It's been a month and your girlfriend keeps sending me death glares," Yanjun informed in the car as he drove him and Scarlett home.

"Stop calling her my girlfriend. Or I'll tell Yunyu you want to get back with her."

"You're evil."

"And you're stupid. Now let's hurry up and get home. I'm supposed to be helping Jungie cook," Scarlett ordered waving the older boy off.

The two of them sat in silence as he drove to their house. When they got there, Scarlett bolted from the car almost jumping out as it was moving.

"What the hell, Red," Yanjun yelled as she paused at the front door and stuck her tongue at him before retreating inside. "She's so childish...and stupid."

Once Yanjun parked the car, he grabbed his backpack and got out. With his phone in his hand, he jogged into the house to find a small group of people bundled together.

"Mom. Dad. You're making it hard to breathe," Scarlett groaned as her two parents held onto her like their lives depended on it. Luckily, the two of them let her out of the hug, but they didn't totally let her go.

"Let Mommy see your ouchies, Sweetie. My poor baby," her mother cooed making Scarlett groan.

The boys happened to all be in the room holding back their laughs as they watched. Yanjun joined them and watched how strange Mr. and Mrs. Huang were acting.

"Justin is the baby of this family! I'm the oldest, toughest, baddest bit-"

"Huang Xiulan!"

"Yes, Momma..."

After having a long, private conversation with her parents, Scarlett came back to the guest house with lipstick marks on her cheeks and tired eyes.

"Hey, Momma's girl," Xiao Gui grinned when she walked into the living room where he and the others were watching a scary movie.

"Would you really like to become a little ghost because I have your ticket to death," Scarlett replied with a stoic look in her eyes. "I'm going to sleep. Try not to scream to loud, pansies. I could hear you from the main residence."

"Lies. We didn't even scream at all," Justin pointed a finger at his sister who blinked at him.

"Really, Minghao? I know what you're like when you watch scary movies and you're not coming into my room and sleeping with me like you did before."

"L-Lani," Justin stuttered suddenly giving up his cool guy act.

"Ask Jungie," Scarlett sighed leaving the premises. Not long after, Yanjun got up from his spot on the couch earning eyes on him.

"Where you going," Zhengting asked despite already knowing the answer.

"I only stayed up because I wanted Crimson to watch with us and jump into my arms when she gets scared. It didn't work out so I'm going to bed," Yanjun shrugged walking out of the room leaving the boys and just as he did they all screamed with the exception of some.

Xukun was holding onto Ziyi while Justin held onto Nongnong who was engrossed with the scene. The others were hiding under blanket and pillows like they would get rid of the scene.

When Yanjun got to the top of the stairs, he paused and looked down the hall to his right where his room was then to the left where Scarlett's room was.

He tapped his phone in the palm of his hand before advancing down the left all to the end and turning the last door on the right just across from Justin's. Biting the inside of his mouth, Yanjun lifted his fist to the door and hesitated, but before he could knock a voice stopped him.

"What are you doing?"

Yanjun turned to find the source and saw Scarlett peeking out from her other room. Her cheeks no longer having red marks and her eyes not looking as tired as before.

"I-"

"You want to come in," she cut him off opening her door a bit more. He now saw her burgundy silk pajama shorts that had a matching button up short sleeping top with a pocket over her heart.

Yanjun thought two things in this moment. One, that Scarlett looked adorable and two, Xukun had been the only boy in the house other than Justin to enter one of her rooms.

"Inviting a man into your quarters, Crimson? Wh-"

"Nevermind, I don't have patience for this," Scarlett sighed beginning to close the door, but Yanjun quickly stopped her.

"Yes, Crimson. I want to come in," the older boy answered just as fast. Scar stared at him for moment deciding whether or not to let him inside her room.

Reluctantly, the girl pulled open her bedroom door allowing him inside. When he stepped inside and looked around, her room wasn't as he imagined it to be.

Her bed was covered in black sheets with a white comforter and some pillows of different shapes lying around. A navy blue fur blanket was messily sprawled on top like she had just got off of it. In the two corners near the head of the bed were two large plants. To the side of the door that led to her bathroom was her white desk that was neatly organized and just on the other side of the door was a matching book case filled with books and some other trinkets. He looked at her walls and noted the dark gray foam that covered the room then the window on the back wall that had weird geometrical bars.

"Nice," Yanjun commented as Scarlett closed the door then went and fell back onto her bed.

"It's plain, I know. You don't have to lie," she whined wrapping herself in her fuzzy blanket before poking out her hand and patting the space beside her. "Sit, lay, whatever, just don't stand there. You're freaking me out."

Yanjun obeyed her and decided to lay down next to her like she did when she went in his and Zhangjing's room.

"You freaking out because I'm the first boy other then your brother in here," Yanjun smirked at the girl who laid beside him, but looked away. His smirk disappeared when he noticed four marks on the side of her neck. They were scars that looked like small crescent moons.

"No. You're not the first boy other than Justin," she hummed turning her head to look at him and he quickly pushed the marks out of his mind. "Zhengting and Chengcheng have been in here before, when we were kids."

"Oh..."

"Mhmm..."

Pause.

"Crimson," Yanjun said feeling like this was probably one of the most serious moments he had ever had with the girl. "What happened in America? I asked Zhengting and Chengcheng what you like before you left China. They said you were really girly and kind. You were shy around boys other then them and you were just really different from the person you are now. Not that I don't like you, but I just want to know."

The girl stayed silent, staring at the ceiling and somehow even though she hated to talk about it, she was calm. "People aren't as trust worthy as you would think. The closest people you have," she paused to look over to him. His brown eyes on her as he saw something he'd never seen with her before. Real, raw emotions. "They hurt you the most."
