"Right here." I whispered.
Shawn pulled into the cobblestone driveway. I told him to park next to serenity's car. Once he did he cut the engine and we just sat in the car. I was scared, it was much more real being in my family's driveway. In front of the place I grew up and spent my whole life, a life I wanted to badly to get away from.
"Hey...Peyton," Shawn said before putting his hand on mine.
I looked over at him and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, "You are going to be okay."
"Maybe this was a bad idea, I don't think I'm going to be able to face her." I said with a shaky voice.
Shawn gave me a comforting smile, "You're going to do this Peyton, just like a bandaid. You're an adult now, she doesn't have much power over you. You're here for your sister, remember that."
I nodded before looking back at the big house. He then squeezed my hand causing me to look back at him. Shawn smiled before standing up somewhat awkwardly since we were still in the truck. He dug through his pocket and finally grabbed whatever it was before sitting back down.
"This isn't romantic at all, but seeing as it's not real it will have to do huh?" Shawn asked before showing me the ring, "Will you Peyton Ellis, do me the pleasure of being my fake wife?"
I looked at the silver band that had a pretty medium sized rectangular diamond on it. It had two little diamonds on the band on each side of the center diamond.
"One of course, two where on earth did you get a ring from?" I asked as he slid on the ring onto my ring finger.
He laughed, "It's my mom's."
"You just keep your mom's ring in your pocket?" I asked with a laugh as I admired the stunning ring.
"No but we want to make this believable right? Well the ring seals the deal," Shawn informed me, "Ready to do this?"
I looked at him and sighed, "I don't have much other choice huh?"
With that we got out of the car, we decided to leave the bags in the car. Just incase my mom went ballistic and does end up making us get a hotel. Shawn met me on my side and took my hand in his as we walked towards the huge front door. Each step I felt myself wanting to puke more and more. Though nothing came out.
With my shaky hand I rang the doorbell. Shawn must've noticed because one it looked like I was a maraca with how I was shaking but I was also tense. He gave my hand a reassuring squeeze.
The door then opened revealing one of my mom's maids. Not a shocker that I didn't recognize her, my mom must've fired one of the old ones. She gave us a welcoming smile before opening the door wider. Odd because we weren't even asked if we knew the family or not. Then again right when we walk in our family portrait hung on the wall. Figured she must've recognized me.
We walked into the grand foyer, shawn looked around like he just walked into a fairytale. I laughed and squeezed his hand, he looked down at me and wiped the smile off his face.
"It's hideous, I can see why you left." He joked which made me laugh.
"Peyton!" I heard an all too familiar voice belonging to my sister.
