Chapter Twenty-two - I'm your father

"I can't drive that great" I say nervous.

"Well try your best because Axel's life is on your hands" He said making my heart beat faster.

Austin, Lars and Jax went into the back with Axel and Asher and I sit in the front, while Ace and Hunter went to the car they came in.

You can do this Ashley!

I started the engine and drove off in a speed. Axel's life depends on you!

"Drive straight home" Jax shouted from the back.

"But he needs a hospital" I said panicking.

"We can't take him to a hospital, it's too risky" Asher said.

I bent the corner terribly, causing the truck to jerk. Axel groaned loudly in pain and I try my best to control the truck.

"Take a right here" Asher directed me.

I have never went to their house from on this side, so I didn't know exactly where to go.

Have you ever felt so much pressure, that you feel you might die if you don't succeed?

That's how I'm feeling right now, to cry. As I drive, I feel the tears streaming down my face. I was just so scared, nervous and angry all at once.

Did the rebels try to kill him, or scare him a little?

Would the boys really try to kill him?

"Keep going straight" Asher directed.

If something was to happen to Axel because of me, I don't know what I will do.

I've known him for such a short time yet it feels like years.

I pulled up in front the house and I think I saw my mom's car but I push that thought back when they lifted Axel out the car.

Hunter and Ace pulled up behind us and rushed to us. "Axel is hurt!" Jax shouted as we rushed into the house.

Joanne came out from the back and rushed to us. "Get him in the living room!" She said to Austin and Jax. "Lars, get the plastic to put on the sofa. I'll get Phoenix" She instructed as she rushed to the back.

Who is Phoenix?

Is that her husband and The boys father?

Lars returned with a large plastic sheet and it sent a shiver up my back as he laid it across the sofa. They gently rest down Axel on the sofa as he shut his eyes in pain.

Joanne came back with a tall scary looking man in his late forties. One look at him and you could tell he was dangerous. He looked at me, straight in my eyes as he past. I could have sworn I saw them lit up but what the hell do I know.

"Get the medical kit" He ordered Jax.

Phoenix lifted Axel's shirt and there was a lot of blood. It was hard to see where it was coming from.

"He was stabbed, it's very deep" Phoenix said.

Jax came back with the medical kit in his hand and gave it to Phoenix. "How did this happen?" Phoenix said annoyed.

"We don't know" Austin said.

"When we came, he was already on the ground bleeding" Lars explained and the other boys nodded in agreement.

"I'll get the water and cloth" Ace said going into the kitchen.

Ace returned with a big bowl of water and a cloth, giving it to Phoenix. Phoenix cleaned the wound and once it was clean enough, he went inside the medical kit.
