Chapter 1

That was your dream.

'Will I ever have a chance to work with L? Or perhaps meet him?' You asked yourself with a smile on your lips. You knew you had to work very hard if you wanted this to come true.

'Let's put this aside.' you said to yourself. 'I need to focus now.' You were sitting in your (color) pajama on your bed watching a romantic movie on TV. Actually, you didn't even notice that the TV was turned on. You were thinking about the Kira case so much that you forgot your surroundings. When you searched for news about Kira, you couldn't find anything new. You looked at the thudded black note book, that was in front of you. In it, you wrote down everything about Kira that you could find and now you were trying to put these notes together.

'Okay... So I know that Kira killed a lot of people in just a short time...' You licked your lip. '...And all of them were high profile criminals, who died of a sudden heart attack...' You licked your bigger lip again. You always did that when you were thinking deeply about something. 'All those victims, who died of a heart attack were not poisoned. No substance was found in their bodies, which is why the police thought that they were coincidences at first...'

You noted. 'I doubt that there is a way to make people get a sudden heart attack when they were perfectly fine just before their deaths. What is also strange is that a lot of these criminals were in jail. How did Kira get close to them?' you asked yourself. 'Maybe he works with a team, a kind of mafia, that wants the world to become a better place?' you wondered, but this still didn't explain how the killers came close to their victims.

You didn't have enough information in order to get further with your investigations.

'Why is this progressing so slow? I know this is a battle between the great detective L and the great criminal Kira, but the whole world is investigating against one criminal or one organization! Some Japanese people started to believe that Kira was god, who finally decided to take some actions against the bad guys in this world. Hmmm..' You thought that this idea was interesting.

Kira as god.

'Let's say he is god.... A death god, perhaps. This would explain the death through heart attacks, the deaths only on criminals and that different criminals die in different places at different times.'

You thought about putting this as your first theory on Kira. You planned to think about every single possibility. 'Alright then...' you said as you wrote down your first theory

~Theory (1): Kira is a Death God -> Name/Face enough to kill -> Inhuman power~

~Death God: Fair (after criminals only!) -> wants justice on earth~

'That's crazy!' you laughed. 'Let's see how I can prove this theory wrong. If Kira is not god, then he isn't perfect.' you noticed and knew that you had to wait for him to do something that a god would not do. 'Perhaps he will kill innocent people, reveal something about him that only humans do, lose his power or make a mistake. Who knows...' you sighed and let your body fall on the soft bed.

So many people were trying to solve Kira's case. Everyone on their own way, but you asked yourself if there was another person who came up with the thought that Kira might just be a god. If that was true then it would be impossible to catch him. 'Maybe that explains why L didn't find anything useful about Kira yet...' your thoughts were interrupted by an announcement on TV.

"The schedule program will be interrupted for a special broadcast!"

You lifted your head and directed yourself toward the TV that is situated in front of your bed.

'When did I turn on the TV?' you asked yourself.

"Apologize for the interruption, but now we bring a life worldwide broadcast from the ICPO Interpol..." The man on the screen informed you.

'Wait! That can only mean, that the police has news about Kira!' you realized and curiously watched a new man appear on the screen. He was in his middle age , had black hair and was wearing a gray suit. You could read that his name was Lind.L.Tailor.

'I guess he is the man, who will bring the news!' You concluded and waited for him to start talking.

"I'm the only person who can control the entire worlds police force, Lind.L.Tailor."

First, you didn't understand what he meant. But then...

"I go by the code name.... L!"

'What? That was L???' You had no idea why he was showing himself to the world. Until now L had kept his identity secret. No one knew his real name or how he looked. But why now? Why did he decide that it was best to show himself to the world now? Is he planning something?

"The successive murdering of criminals are unforgivable and must not go unpunished..."

'I doubt L thinks that Kira is a god. If Kira is human, then he will want to eliminate his greatest threat, L. I'm sure L knows that.'

"...I guarantee that I will find and catch the ringleader Kira." He continued.

'C'moooon, Lind!' You were impatient.

"Kira, I guess what your motivation might be, but what you're doing is...EVIL!"

Now Lind was smiling.
His smile was provokative.

'Wait what? L's plan is to provoke Kira and see if he will dare to kill someone who is innocent? Or does he want Kira to broadcast a message to L in which he curses him?' you were confused and feared what might come next. 'What if Kira decides to kill L?' You were trying to think of what L might have planned when Lind.L.Tailor suddenly grabbed the middle of his chest and began to scream and groan before he passed out. Your blood froze for a second before your heart started to beat very fast. You couldn't believe, that L risked his own life for an announcement. 'That is not the L I know!' Your eyes were fixed on the screen hoping that this would just be a bad prank. 'The worlds best detective always comes up with genius traps to get what he wants! This is not L! This is someone else pretending to be L... L isn't that careless...' you kept telling yourself, but you had no idea what was going on.

What if Kira really killed L?

Two men, who looked like bodyguards came to Lind's desk and carried him away from his place. You watched the scene in silence and waited.

Then all of a sudden the screen changed and a capitalized 'L' appeared in the middle of the white screen. This change caused you to sigh in relief...

...Because it was L's signature.
