"Jack! John Fitzgerald Kennedy! Now you get back here this instant!" is what echos down the corridor as the Sr. Kennedy goes after his son.

"I'm sick of this house and this family!" Jack yells out before getting in his Mustang taking off with a large cloud of dust filling the air.

—————

Jackie is looking down at her hand as her parents looked at her.

"I can't believe you two could be so careless!" Janet says.

"We were careful ..." Jackie states before she is cut off.

"Well obviously it didn't work," Jack Bouvier says calmly even though inside he is steaming.

"We didn't do it on purpose," Jackie says.

"Don't you know that's all it takes is one time Jacqueline?" Janet questions.

"Yeah now, but you two have never talked to me about boys or sex. You were just going to let me learn from Sex Ed," she counters.

"That's not the point. If you had questions about sex; you should have come to us," Janet replies.

"When mom? You were always out with your social friends! Dad is always playing golf or at his office."

Neither of them says anything.

"That's not the point Jacqueline, you still should have come to us."

"Yes, but there's nothing we can do now," Jack says shaking his head.

"Jacqueline, does Jack's parents know?" Janet asks.

"I don't know, I'm not talking to Jack."

"Why," her father asks turning from the fireplace.

"Because he tried to make it seem like I was trying to trap him so I could get my hands on his family's money..."

"Humph, he has some nerve," Janet says sharply.

"He what!?" Jack Bouvier yells.

"He asked me how did he know if I was telling the truth. I showed him the test and he knows he's the only boy I've been with."

"That spoiled little brat! I ought to go over there and tell him and his father where they can stick their money," Jack says storming towards the door.

"Jack, not right now! Right now we just need to focus on Jacqueline. We can worry about him later." Janet says standing in front of the door to keep her husband from leaving.

Jackie had to admit to herself that this is going better than she expected; even though she can tell that her parents are disappointed in her because not one time has either one of them called her "Jacks."

Just as Janet was about to say something there is a knock at the door.

"What's wrong Lee, we're talking to your sister about something important," Janet says sounding impatient.

"Jackie Kathleen called..."

"What did she want?" Jackie asks surprised that Jack's younger sister is calling.

"Jack is in the hospital! He was in a terrible accident, his car is totaled!" Lee says scared.

Jackie sits there and she doesn't know what to say. Even though she is mad at Jack, she would never want anything to happen to him.

"Lee tell the chauffeur to bring the car," Jack says.

Twenty minutes later Jackie runs into the Emergency Room.

"Hi I'm here to see John Kennedy," Jackie says to the lady at the front desk.

The lady types his name in and says, "he's currently in surgery."

"Is he going to be ok?" Jackie asks her voice filled with fear.

"I'm sorry ma'am I won't know until he gets out of surgery."

"Jackie over here," Kathleen calls out from a private room.

An hour later Jackie has found out that Jack left the house after arguing with his father about her being pregnant.

According to Kathleen, Kick as she is affectionately known told Jackie what had happened. It started raining heavily when Jack going over sixty-five miles per hour (104km) lost control of his car which flipped over three times down a hill and slammed into a tree.

Jackie sat there afraid and feels horrible that she is the reason for Jack being in the hospital. If she had never gotten pregnant, then none of this would have happened.

Of course, Jack's family assured her that it's not her fault and that she shouldn't harbor any guilt; but she can't help it. She wouldn't know what to do if Jack died.

A half-hour goes by and a doctor comes to the room.

"Are you here for John Kennedy?"

"Yes, will my son be alright?" Rose asks fearfully.

"Well, we were able to stop the internal bleeding, but he's still in critical condition, he's currently in a coma..." the young doctor says solemnly, "right now it's up to him to pull through."

"There's nothing else you can do, bring in more doctors? Specialist?" Joe Sr. asks.

"I'm sorry sir, it's all up to John now," the doctor replies.

"Joe, we have to pray," Rose says putting her arm around her husband.

"I need to call in the best of best, I can't lose my son," Joe Sr says his voice cracking at the end.
