I went downstairs to confront my mom about whether she knew about any of this.

"Honey, what's wrong?" My mom asked and embraced me into a hug.

"D-dad and Hu-unter!" I cried.

"I'm guessing that he won't be joining us for dinner tomorrow?"

I shook my head, the thought of having Hunter over for dinner made me even more depressed about our fight.

"You knew about Dad, didn't you?" I confronted my mom.

My mom's face contorted into sadness, and she slowly nodded her head.

"Why?!?" I cried. "Why did you tell me that Dad didn't love us anymore? When in fact, he loves us so much!"

My mom started crying too, "It was hard for me. I couldn't stand being without him. I love him so much, that it was just easier letting go of him all together."

I wrapped my arms around my mom, and we cried together for the ones we love.

After our little crying fest, I made my mom call my dad.

At first she refused, but eventually she agreed. I could see it in her eyes, that she was excited yet terrified at the same time. She slowly dialed his number and waited for him to pick up.

"Hello?" His masculine voice filled the phone.

My mom gasped and dropped the phone.

"I can't do this..." she whispered and buried her face into her hands.

"Yes you can!"

I picked up the phone, "Hey daddy...I read your first letter."

"That's great, you're finally calling me. Every day I wait for your phone call but it never comes."

His voice sounded so broken, and I knew only his wife could heal any broken heart.

"Mom wants to talk to you."

I handed her the phone, while she tried to calm her erratic breathing pattern.

"Jules, is that really you?" My dad's endearing name for my mom sent her over the edge.

"Alec," she cried into the phone. "Alec, oh Alec!"

"Julia, I love you so much. Why have you stopped loving me?"

"I never stopped loving you," my mom sobbed. "It hurts, it hurts so much."

I quietly left the room, to leave them to their privacy.

I heard my mom go to her bedroom, locked the door, and never came out for hours.

I could hear her talking and catching up with the one man she couldn't stop loving. I heard her laugh, cry, and yell into the phone at my dad, but I knew they were closer than ever before.

I'd say it's all me.

I haven't seen Hunter in a week.

Each day at school, I search for him, but Nate tells me that he hasn't seen Hunter in a week either.

I've been worrying for Hunter, and I hope that he doesn't do anything stupid since our fight.

"Looking for someone?" Kate's screechy voice asked. "Possibly Hunter?"

I whirled around and looked at her.

"Do y-you know where he i-is?" I stammered. My voice hoarse and dry.

"Well considering he was at my house last night, I would say I do know where he is. Actually not anymore, but last night was very fun." She threw her perfectly straight hair over her shoulder and stalked off.
