Chapter-14: The Complicated Futility Of Ignorance

"Have you lost your eyes?" she shouted at him mustering all her energy while he tried to pick her up

"You could've killed me. I could've died" she tried to get past his grip but stumbled again into his embrace. Her breathing was ragged so was his.

He didn't bother to answer her, his whole concentration on her injuries mentally being grateful for not killing her.

"I'm so sorry. I was in hurry and" before he could complete his sentence he lifted her arm

"You're bleeding" her eyes widened in horror as she saw blood flowing like water from her side.

"Mark take me to the hospital before i die" hearing the word die he panics and rushes her towards the hospital.

"You'll be fine miss" the Doctor said after bandaging her arm.
"Considering the circumstances you might have ended up with broken arms, legs or ribs."

Her eyes widened in horror and her hands started to shake so Mark decided to speak on her behalf
"I think it's too much information Doctor"

The Doctor gave an apologetic smile and stoop up from the chair "These are your prescriptions and if you experience any post traumatic symptoms feel free to contact me."

Mark and In-ha politely thanked the Doctor and waited for him to leave the room

Mark looked at her with guilt once the Doctor stepped out of the room
"I'm so sorry" he sat next to her and repeatedly said sorry while taking her in a tight embrace.

She awkwardly patted his back instantly turning red.

"It's fine, just be more careful. By the way why were you in such a hurry" she suddenly asked making him look at her with a pale face.

"Fuck" He explained the situation to In-ha and panicked as well

Hei wasn't accustomed to handle such situations all alone
"We've to call her Mark" she said

"My phone is my car" he said
"And you broke mine" she said in annoyance

She stood up from the bed "We've to see her now" 

Mark hesitantly grabbed her hands "You can't go"

She sighed but continued to wear her mules at the same time adjusting her broken arm
"Like the Doctor said nothing is broken, just some scratches here and there" she gave him a bright pleading smile

He looked at her and In-ha sighed again "I'm completely fine but trust me she won't be"

Mark nodded helping her stand up, both of them made their way towards his car
"Can we stop by my place first?" Mark looked at her in confusion but then she lifted her hands to show a bloody patch

His eyes widened a little and he nodded looking away before guilt could consume him even more

Mark drove so fast that it nearly gave her whiplash
"I'll wait here" Mark said but In-ha gave him a funny look

"You can stay there until i get back rather than melting in the heat here." she didn't wait for his answer and stepped out of the car

Mark followed her quietly and she grinned a little

"I'll be back" she said closing the door behind her when Mark entered the apartment.

Mark nodded and comfortably sat on the couch. His eyes travelling around the living room before settling on the picture of In-ha, Youngjae and Bam.
