Chapter 18 - Last day with the Moon Beam Pack

"No they were too fast for Zander"

"Well, why don't we go shopping and get you a fish that you can take him and remember me by?" Jace said

"YAY!!" Zander cheered jumping up and down "Can I, mum can I?" he asked.

"Will he be able to make the trip back home?" I asked smiling at Jace and Zander and did see the similarities.

"Yes!" Zander cheered "I will help him"

"Okay then come on we can go and get changed then we will go" I said standing up and then lifting the blankets and basket from the floor and Jace picked up Zander and put him on his shoulders.

"LOOK MUMMY I'M TALLER THAN YOU AND UNCLE JACE!!!" Zander screamed his hands gripping Jace's hair as we made our way back.

"WOW! Look how big you are" I said smiling at him.

"When I grow up I'm going to be just like Uncle Jace" he said, making Jace smile so big I thought his face would break.

"Awe thanks buddy, that means the world to me" Jace said but whispered the last bit to himself.

"Come on FISH, FISH!!!!" Zander cried out clapping his hands.

After we were all ready to go we climbed into my car and we headed to the pet shop.

"I like this one," Zander said, pointing to a blue, silver, green and black fish that followed his finger as he ran it along the tank, making him giggle.

"Okay let me go and get someone" Jace said and walked over to a lady who was cleaning out a fish tank of the other side.

"What are you going to name it?" I asked.

"hmmmmm....." Zander trailed off "I think........I'll call him.......Kevin" he said looking at the fish smiling "Hi Kevin" he said and the fish blew a bubble in reply making Zander giggle.

"Yes can we have that one please" Jace said coming back over and pointing to the fish.

"Okay, have you got a tank at home or do you need one?" the lady asked getting a bag to put the fish in.

"Yeah we need one, so can we go and look while you catch him?"

"Sure go ahead, make sure you get something to go in to the tank and some food for him, the stones at the bottom are optional but they can make the tank look nice"

"Okay, thanks"

we walked off and looked at the tanks.

"Can i have that one?" Zander asked pointing to a small round bowl.

"Yeah okay, now go and choose some stones and something to put into it" I said smiling as i picked up a boxed bowl.

Zander got some dark blue stones and a tree with holes in it for the fish to swim in.

I picked up some food and we went and picked up Kevin from the lady.

"Thank you"

We went to the till and paid while Zander talked away to Kevin who kept watching him and blowing bubbles.

When we got back we walked into my room and we set up a table for the bowl, I washed the bowl out and then put it on the table, I poured some stones in until the bottom had about two layers, then I placed the tree in where Zander wanted it. I put some water in it then picked up Kevin in the bag and left his bag floating for a while so he could get used to the temperature. After an hour we emptied his bag into the bowl.

"There you go baby, Kevin is home" I said smiling as Zander jumped up and down, Kevin watching him.

"Thank you Uncle Jace," Zander said, hugging his waist and smiling up at him.

"You're welcome buddy, why don't I go and see if Skye wants to come and meet Kevin?" I said and stood up so they could have some alone time.

"Okay" Zander said and turned back to Jace and Kevin talking a mile-a-minute .

I followed Skye's scent and saw him with Damien and Georgia watching tv.

"Hey, can I borrow Skye for a while, Jace just brought Zander a fish and he wants to show Skye" I said smiling.

"Yeah okay" Damien said, holding Skye out to me.

"Thanks, and I have something to tell you later" I said.

"Okay" and with that I turned and walked up to my room and saw Zander and Jace feeding Kevin.

"My Zander?" Skye asked quietly, making Zander's head snap up and a smile to grace his lips.

"My Sky, come and see my fish, he is called Kevin" Zander said and picked Skye up out of my arms carefully.

It was dinner now and everyone was laughing and talking together and I was talking to Jace, Damien and Georgia while Zander and Skye were eating their food.

"Remember when I said I had something to tell you?" I asked Georgia and Damien and they nodded.

"Well this is big" I said "Jace is Zander's dad" I whispered to them making them gasp and look at Jace.

"How?!" Georgia asked.

"Amy is Jace's mate, they met at a pub 3 or 4 years ago and she was only in town for 3 days, they got to know each other and then she up and left him, never heard from her since" I said quietly.

"Wow, sorry man" Damien said patting my brother on his back in a comforting way I suppose.

"S'okay" Jace whispered and smiled weekly "At least I know I have a son out there and am not completely clueless now"

"Yeah i guess"

"I'm gonna miss him so much"

I thought about it for a minute "Then come back with us" I said in my normal voice.

"What?" Jace asked.

"Come home with me and Zander, you can join our pack, we can be a proper brother and sister" I said.

Jace thought about it then smiled so wide I thought his cheeks would crack.

"Okay"
