I argued with them until Bronwyn was in tears. Y/N picked her up, and tried to calm her down. She gave me a death glare, and tried to comfort the little girl. All of a sudden, we heard Miss Peregrine come up the stairs.
Y/N and Bronwyn rushed out the door, and I tried to push passed Jacob.
"Out of the way!" I hiss at him.
"Tell me what happened to Victor!"
"I can't!"
"Then tell me about Raid the Village! You were telling me about it before Y/N came!"
"I can't tell you that, neither!" I said, trying to shove pass him again.
This idiot won't let me go, so I just give up. I tell him to close the door and I'll whisper it to him. Eventually, she went into her room and I told Jacob about Raid the Village. He thought it was cruel, but we have to do it. So I got into his face a little, and walked out into my room. I heard Bronwyn sobs coming from Y/N's room, and I feel kinda bad. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now.
Y/N's POV
Honestly, I don't understand Enoch sometimes.
Even with being able to read emotions, it doesn't always help. Like seriously, who makes a little girl cry? Alex and I are trying to calm Bronwyn down, after Enoch refused to bring Victor back.
"So, Enoch refused to tell what killed Victor," Alex clarified.
"Exactly, it doesn't make sense. If nothing bad can happen on the island in the loop, then how did he die?"
"A," hick "hollow," hick "killed him," hick, Bronwyn sobbed.
Alex looks at me confused, and I give her the same look.
"What's a hollow?" I telepathically ask her, not wanting to upset Bronwyn anymore.
"No clue," she replied, "Got any ideas?"
"Nope, but I can ask Enoch. I doubt he'll tell me though."
"True," she says, ending our little conversation.
"Bronwyn, how about we go play outside. That will be fun, won't it?"
She wipes her tears away and nods. I grab her hand, and Alex grabs her other one. We go outside, and we sit down in the grass. I look up to a window, where I see Enoch looking out of it. I wave, and he walks away from it. Claire comes over, and she starts talking with Bronwyn. Alex and I sit there, laughing as they chase each other around and play a game of tag.
After a couple of minutes, Enoch walks outside. He comes and sits down next to me in the grass. Alex starts giggling, and I tell her to shut up.
"That was mean Enoch, you made poor Bronwyn upset."
"Y/N, what do you want me to do about it?"
"I don't know, apologize to her?"
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Do it."
"No."
"I won't date you."
He sighs, "fine."
Behind me, Alex bursts into laughter. Enoch glares at her, and she tries to say I'm sorry, but she can't get the words out.
"Bronwyn, come here," Enoch yells to her.
She stops and walks over.
"I'm," he looks at me. I say do it Enoch telepathically, and he continues, "I'm sorry Bronwyn."
"It's okay!" she smiles, and sits on his lap.
He looks terrified when she does this. It's kinda cute how clueless he is with little kids. He puts his arms around her, and I smile.
"Y/N and Enoch sittin' in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g," Alex chants.
He rolls his eyes, and I laugh.
"So, you guys are together, right?" Alex asks.
I look at him. Sure, he had his arm around me before, but that doesn't mean we're dating.
"Why do you care?" Enoch asks.
Claire comes over and sits on my lap, and Alex comes over and sits in the middle of us.
"Well, if my twin is in a relationship, I need to make sure this guy is good enough for her," Alex explains.
"Are we together?" I ask him telepathically.
"Do you want to be?" he asks.
"Yeah, I mean, if you want to."
"Then I'll consider you my girlfriend. And before when Olive said that I was her boyfriend... you know that's not true right?"
"Well duh,"
I break our eye contact, which stops our conversation.
"I'm assuming you guys just talked it out. What's the verdict? You two together or...."
"Yeah," he says.
"Yup," I smile.
I read Enoch's emotion, mostly because he isn't showing one. Apparently he's mastered the art of a poker face, so he keeps all his happiness, sadness, and most other emotions inside. Well of course, besides jealously and anger. But right now, it's happy, relieved, excited, and thriving.
"Awww, you guys are going to be such a cute couple," Alex coos.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Enoch says, running his fingers through Bronwyn's hair.
I look at her, and she telepathically says, "are you crazy?"
A/N: OH MY GOSH GUYS THE 4TH BOOK IS FREAKING HERE!!!! I got it on October 2nd, and I'm already on page 146 (which is amazing because I'm busy like 24/7). I won't spoil anything but.... I've never laughed so hard while reading a book (bottom of page 121, A Map of Days). I've been super busy (again) so I won't have another chapter out this weekend. I will probably have another one out throughout the week days though. In this chapter, most of the stuff and dialogue came from pages 218-223 of Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, so I just thought I would clarify that. Anyways, I hope you guys have a great rest of your weekend! -Luna Maine
