Chapter 30: The Dawn of a New Era

"I'm too old for this." The King of Gehenna sighed.

Once they got to Assiah, they were pretty upset to find out the journal was a bust. Apparently Azazel had anticipated this a stowed a few fakes. But seeing as they had come all this way and were in no hurry to return to their angry father, they decided to pay another one of their brothers a visit.

Yukio and the others sat there quietly, retelling the events of their mission, while they waited for the rest of the class. Sheimi was sitting there quietly, when a little green hamster jumped on her desk startling her.

"Hey there little guy what are you doing here?" Her comment had gotten the others attention.

"How'd that thing get in here?" Bon asked. Before anyone could reply, something or someone rather, came crashing onto Shiemi's desk. It startled everyone. The desk, the hamster, and the person all came crashing down in front of Shiemi. The hamster quickly scurried off under the other desks but was still being chased by the figure. More than one desk fell as the duo jumped under and over them.

The green hamster ran under the teachers desk. The pursuer stopped for a brief second to yell.

"When I catch you I'm gonna burn you!" He shouted. In this moment it was quickly identified as Rin who was chasing the hamster. This left the others confused for a number of reasons. The first being why Rin was back in Assiah and the second being why he was chasing a hamster.

Rin jumped across the teachers desk, scattering papers as he did so, and landed with a loud thud on the other side. The hamster had avoided his grasped and jumped back on top the desk, where it turned into Amaimon.

Amaimon had a look of terror on his face as he jumped from one desk to another, trying to evade Rin. The others could honestly say that was the most expression and emotion they had ever seen on the King of Earth.

"I'll burn this whole place down if I have too!" Rin shouted as he jumped into the air. His movement, however, was abruptly stopped by a hand grabbing the back of his jacket. He was yanked forcibly back and he looked over and saw that the same had happened to Amaimon. Both Rin and Amaimon were dangling by the backs of their jackets. An annoyed Mephisto held them apart. Mephisto gritted his teeth, but before he could say anything to them loud footsteps came running towards the door.

"Hey you guys calm down before Sam..." Egyn came flying around the corner then abruptly stopped when he came onto the scene. " Hey Samael, I see you've found our brothers. How's life going you hardly come and visit?" Egyn said nervously as he leaned on the door, trying to change the topic.

"Egyn I do hope you have a good explanation for this." He tightened his grip on Rin and Amaimon. Yukio and the others were still a little too in shock to comment on anything. It had been over a year since the last time they had seen Rin and though the presence of Mephisto was an easy and familiar routine to slip back into it did not mean they were prepared for every crazy detail of his life that literally came crashing into theirs. Even if Rin was someone they knew.

"What the hell is going on?" Yukio shouted, he knew he wasn't the only one confused.

"It seems my younger brothers have decided to pay me an unannounced visit." Mephisto said through clenched teeth.

"I get the distinct impression that you're embarrassed by us." Egyn said in mock disappointment. 

"Explain." Mephisto's tone was a warning to not waste any more time stalling. 

"Well you see." Egyn started to mumble about things that were not really important to the situation and it only seemed to annoy Mephisto more.

Yukio had his attention pulled from the conversation when he heard a light tap on the window. He was sitting closest to the window and was the first out of the humans in the room to notice. His fellow exorcists in training followed his line of sight. With the events already in progress they really shouldn't have been surprised, but they were and still a little to in shock to move or speak. 

There on the other side of the window was the King of Fire. He quickly held a finger to his lips to convey silence. Something they were not sure if they should do or not but still they couldn't bring them selves to yell. Iblis carefully slid his nails under the window and started to open it as quietly as he could.

That's when Rin and Amaimon noticed the presence of the king of fire. They subtly looked behind themselves, thankful Mephisto had his back turned to the window and was too focused on his conversation with Egyn. Rin and Amaimon looked at each other, they knew what they had to do next.

"Yes and what about these two?" Mephisto said irritably as he held up the two jackets in his hands.

Jackets?

Mephisto quickly looked down to see he was no longer holding the two young demons, just some of their clothing. He turned around just in time to watch Iblis and Amaimon jump out the window. Rin gave a solute then followed. Mephisto turned back to to doorway to yell at Egyn but found him missing as well. He turned and ran to the window to see the four demon brothers making their escape.

Even in his irritable rage Mephisto couldn't stop the wicked grin on his face or the laugh that escaped his lips.

"My, my they brought the youngest. I wonder how father is taking their newest escape." He had suppressed his laugh by this point. "Okumura, I have a new mission for you and your team." He said with a grin while trying to hide his amusement. "Do keep an eye on the youngest prince of Gehenna." He finished without looking away from the demon brothers.

It's been an honor you guys! No seriously thanks for reading!!! I know I've mentioned this before but I'm not confident in my writing and I'm not just saying that because I want compliments, but the fact that you guys have loved this story so much means the world to me!

I know the ending is a bit corny but I'm setting the pace for another story so I'm sorry if you don't like it. But in order for what I want to do in my next story things have to return to a semi normal state. And I could just write it as a separate story from this one, but I kind of like it in the same time line.

I'm planning on publishing the next one later this week or early next week. I hope you all will stick around for it because you guys are literately the best readers!
