CHAPTER 18: Games That Shouldn't Be Played

While Chris was singing he kept glancing at me and the lyrics had my mind all over the place

"Girl I know you want me
Stop playing this game with me

Once the song was over King pulled me on stage and hugged me. "Sooo" he said into his mic. My eyes went wide and I started to back up not liking where this was going "I was wondering if maybe you wanted to be my girl cause if we being honest I've been crushing on you since freshman year. Melo just got to you first" he did that signature smile showing his grills

I looked at Meer for help and he looked just as caught off guard as I was he shrugged and turned his head. I looked in the crowd and seen Melo leaving. Granted I didn't owe him anything but I didn't wanna make him hurt more than he was already hurting. Then I was looked at Chris and he was waiting just like everyone else was. My answer to this question could make me lose Chris out my life. I knew him and King was close. Lastly I looked at King. There was so much hope in his eyes and there were hundred of people here I didn't wanna embarrass him. This would be all over the internet Come morning

I hugged him and whispered in his ear " I can't and I'll explain later I promise"

"It's chris isn't it??" He whispered back

Shocked that he knew I nodded and we rocked back and forth. At this point the crowd was sure I had said yes and that's all I wanted them to think. I looked behind him to see Chris walking out with Kae. I think my heart actually shattered watching them walk hand in hand.

Later that night I explained everything to King. He didn't judge me and he actually understood. He wasn't mad about me trying to use him as a cover up for me and Chris and he let me know whenever I needed him he would help. " I'll never use you in that way king. I'm disappointed I even thought about it. I'll see you tomorrow"

CHRIS
I honestly just wanted a silent ride back to my Crib but Kae wouldn't shutup " your verse in that song was about me right? It was cute" she was super excited

"That shit wasn't for you"

"What??"

"THAT SHIT WASNT FOR YOU. DAMN KAE!" I said as I pulled into the driveway

"What's with the attitude Christopher?"

"Kae just stop talking to me" I said as I got out the car slamming the door. We walked up to my door and I turned around and looked at her

"What you bout to do??" I raised a brow

"I thought we-"

"That's ya problem you too dumb to be thinking. Go home before you fry ya brain Kae" I slammed the door in her face

20 mins later I was in the living room smoking and there was banging on my door. I groaned getting up knowing it was Kae cause she been calling me since I closed the door in his face "Bruh I thought I told your ass to go home!" I yelled as I snatched the door open

"Damn okay then" I finally looked at the person face and mugged the shit outta them

"Why you here and don't you got a key to my house?? Btw ima be needing that back. Where ya nigga at"

"Standing right in front of me"

"Where's soy sauce??"

"Who the- ohh You disrespectful" I laughed "She never even stepped foot in the house. Didn't think Bae would appreciate that"

"So you are smarter than you look" she reached up playing in my chin hair

I picked her up kissing her and walking us in the house  "Definitely..."

OMNISCIENT

Even after all the bullshit they went through today they managed to get it together by the end of the night. That's all that really mattered to the both of them.

However the night didn't end as good as they think.

Kae was still sitting in her car in Chris driveway blowing his phone up when she seen another car pull up. She would say she was surprised to see that little high school chick get out of the car but she honestly wasn't.

She went through the pictures she had just taken of Chris and Zendaya. Smiling, she thought of all the ways she was about to ruin their life
