"Hey, Y/N," She said softly as I adjusted to the lighter living room. "Morning, didn't know you guys slept down here. Anyway, Dad's about to pick us up in about two to three hours and we're about to get breakfast beforehand."
Through my tiredness, I still caught on to her words. I nodded and stretched, "Yea, alright."
She smiled, "Kay then. Evan's still using the bathroom, so I'll help you and Connor get your stuff together."
"I- Actually, you don't need to. We didn't take a lot out from our bags." I shook my head and chuckled while sitting up. Zoe and Evan's stuff were already by the entrance. The left side of my body ached from me staying on that side. I then thought how easy it was to fall asleep with Connor on a couch than on his larger bed. No one fell off.
"Alright, just tell me if you need help, kay?"
I gratefully smiled too, "Thanks Zo."
Afterward, I quickly got up from the couch. A bit too quickly, because I got the feeling I was traveling between more than one dimension and I had to stay still and blink a few times for a bit.
"What the hell is up with you?" I heard a snort from the staircase. Connor stood with his backpack on his shoulder. His hair was wet and tied in a bun and his clothes were a lot cleaner. Still, he seemed pretty groggy.
I raised an eyebrow. "You know that feeling when you get up from sleeping-"
"Yea, yea I know. Say no more." He placed his backpack next to his suitcase that was already with the others. Nothing was too heavy between us like last night, but maybe the feeling still lingered and slowly wrapped around him like a blanket.
How long has he had that blanket on?
Connor walked back upstairs and I copied his action. Once the bathroom was free, I took a quick shower, got dressed after, and returned to the room my stuff was in.
I didn't think the Murphy's would look forward to a messy bed the next time they vacationed in the house, so I took the time to make it as well."Need some help?" Connor asked as he leaned against the doorway.
I shook my head, "I'm almost done."
He then walked in and picked up a pillow near the foot of the bed. "Y'know, I kinda wish we had more time to hang out in the pool or hot tub in the backyard."
Once I was done, the corner of my lip raised. "It's fine, maybe we can just break into another one next time. That was pretty fun. Maybe we can do it again before you leave for..."
I stopped myself as if the subject itself was very taboo. I then heard Connor sigh as his hand hung loosely in his black jean pockets. "I'm not gonna flip the fuck out if you mention college,
Y/N.""I know, I know, I'm sorry," I apologized, "You just seemed pretty uncomfortable at the topic of it back at your spot and stuff."
His eyes met mine as I scratched the back of my neck. "No, it's fine." Connor shrugged and then smiled a little. Just a little. "I'm not leaving for another two and a half months. Thanks, though."
I chuckled. "Well, I'm gonna miss you."
"Jesus Y/N, we already cried last night. Save it for August. Unless you get accepted into college and your term starts before mine."
"So what happens then?"
With a smirk, Connor stepped closer. "That is when I will flip the fuck out."
Not needing to say anything else, I leaned forward and softly planted my lips on Connor's, and he didn't pull away for a short time. His breath hitched for a second and he winced, so I quickly pulled away that time. "Shit, does your shoulder still hurt?"
"Just a little," he gulped. "I'll just bring an ice pack. Promise you won't tell Larry."
"You call your parents by their first name? How mature."
Connor chuckled sarcastically. "Oh yea, they LOVE it." We both leaned in for another short kiss before Connor pulled away. When he did, our faces were still inches away from each other. "So what was that for?" He asked quietly.
My smile grew. "I'm just thankful for you."
"Never got that one before."
"Well, I always have been," I casually said, looking down and suppressing another chuckle. "Get used to it, Murphy."

I must've fallen asleep in the car on the way back to the Murphy's house because I was shaken awake again. "What?" I asked, slowly opening my eyes. We were parked in their driveway, and from the window, I could see my dad talking with Larry.
"Someone's irritable when they're tired." Connor joked with a raised eyebrow. "Your dad's here."
"Yea, I know," I yawned as I rubbed my eyes. "I'll text you when I get home."
"It's not like I can text anyone else, so I guess I'll have to deal with you."
"Um, what about Evan? Or Jared? You might still have each other's contact, so prank call him. And then tell me what happens afterward!"
Connor shrugged. "Nah, he's not worth it right now."
Grinning, we both got out and Dad greeted me by wrapping his arms around me. "You have fun, kiddo?"
Smiling and looking back at Connor, Zoe, and Evan, I replied, "You have no idea."
After saying goodbye to them and getting my stuff into the trunk, Dad and I hopped into the car and started the drive home. His eyes suddenly widened. "Oh, and before I forget..."
As he slowed down the car, he reached into the back and dropped a white envelope on my lap.I glanced at my dad, confused. "What is-"
"You're not gonna know unless you open it." He kept his eyes on the road. "Well, it's not going to open itself, go on!"
So I opened it, anticipation smoldering within me until the white paper slipped out. My own eyes widened as I scanned the words on the letter and I could feel my heart beating faster and faster.
My dad spoke. "So-"
"I GOT IN!" I squealed loudly with a large smile. I read and read the letter again and pinched myself a few times to make sure it was real. It was, and I was ecstatic. "I fucking did it!"
"YES!" Dad pumped his free fist in the air. He then slightly shook my shoulder as I chuckled. "I'm so proud of you!"
I couldn't wait for my phone to charge when I got home.
