◆16◆ Her warm smile, her cold heart

"Whatever do you mean?" 

Dabi could see they were clearly talking about different things. he beckoned for her to come back to the bed. 

Michiyo crawled onto the bed and she sat on her knees by his side. She felt him pat her on the head. She blushed at the feeling because she loved head pats from him. 

Dabi smiled a little; it's moments like this that were precious. "Leave it to me. I'll sort out that Kirishima guy for you. You go out on your little 'date' with that little boy."

"I'll try and find out their next move for you. Ah, don't kill Kirishima." 

"Why not?" 

"You'll raise alarms if you kill him." 

"I'll try to hold back for your sake. I'm counting on you, Michiyo." 

Knowing that there's someone by your side and counting on you...she thought it was moments like this that were important and precious. She promised him she will do a good job for him!

Todoroki was a little nervous for some reason. He wondered why he was nervous as he waited for Michiyo. It's not like his class doesn't have girls in it and he's never ever nervous about them, but Michiyo alone was able to make him feel a little out of character...and his own heart feeling a little warm on the inside. 

He looked at his left hand because he was thinking about the time when he patted her on the head. It wasn't bothering him or anything, but he was wondering why it felt familiar to pat her on the head. 'Even the way she smiled reminded me of someone...who?' 

"Todoroki~!" Michiyo finally showed up. She's wearing a white jacket over a black shirt, a black skirt with matching colored leggings underneath, and a pair of dark brown military boots. She was crossing the street in order to get to him.

"Huh?" For a brief moment, he thought he saw the same girl wearing the same clothings but had black ears on her head and short white hair. But when he blinked, Michiyo was in front of him with her usual sweet smile. 

"Did you wait long?" 

He stayed silent when she asked him that. 

"Todoroki?" 

Without saying a thing, he suddenly patted her on the head with his left hand. 'I DID see black ears...!' 

"T-Todoroki?" She was sweatdropping at his random action because she couldn't understand why. 

"Michiyo, is your Quirk illusions or something?" 

"Huh? No, my Quirk is not something cool like that. Why? Do I have something on my head-" When she touched the top of her head, she touched the top of Todoroki's hand by accident. 

The two of them blushed and they quickly moved their hands away. 

"S-should we get going?" She asked him. 

"Y-yeah..." Todoroki needed to stop randomly touching her so suddenly. Still, the touch was somewhat familiar. 

The two of them took the train to head to Kamino Ward Shopping Mall. The train was busy and packed, leading the two of them unable to find a seat and having to stand with everyone. Each platform they arrive at, the space between them were forced to close up together because more and more people were coming in. 

Todoroki didn't want to, but he ended up pressing Michiyo against the door. 

"S-sorry, Michiyo."
