"Wait-its actually a girl?"
"Theres someone else in there?"
"Why two?"
"I call dibs on the girl!" I hear someone yell.
"No one is calling dibs on anyone!" Yells the boy that is now only a few feet away from me. "Shes not an object to be thrown around like trash." He says inoccently. No matter how nice he was I still didn't trust him. The only person I trusted was the kid who came up in the box with me, but I have had only one conversation with him. The kid in front of me who seems to be only 16 or 17 years old looks at me with a reassuring smile.
"Youre okay..." He says. "No ones gonna hurt you..." He says as he steps a little bit closer to me. My heart races as he reachs his hand out to grab my shoulder. I didnt know what to do and I swung my right arm around my body, still holding the rock tight towards the boys face.
"Oh shi-" he says before I cut him short by stricking him right in the head with the rock. I hear ooh's and ahhs from the boys above me. I instantly climb atop the boxes and jump out of the metal box I was in. I bolt between the crowd of boys that stand around me. I keep running and running and all I hear behind me is shouts from the boys."Looks like shes a sprinter!" Yells one boy.
Sprinter? What the hell is a sprinter?
I shake that thought out of my head and I keep running as fast as I can. I look up and see a massive wall standing in front of me.
"Holy shit-" I say before tripping and falling flat on my face. I groan and squeeze my eyes in pain. The fall reminds me of my previous injury that I had gotten in the box. I feel two hands grab firmly on both of my shoulders and they lift me up.
"Hey!" I scream. I try to wiggle my way out of their grasp but that only seems to make them hold onto you tighter. I stop wiggling and accept my defeat.
"Take her to the cage." Says one boy. I remember his voice as the one I hit in the head with the rock. I look into his eyes and see anger written all over them. I look away quickly, kinda scared that just looking into his eyes will kill me from him being so mad.
They walk me across what looked like a flat field with a few buildings here and there. I take this opportunity to look around. I realize that there wasbt just one massive wall but there were in fact 4. They all surrounded the area I was in, and the only way out was through a small gap that opened in between the walls, exposing small corridors pointing every which way. My heart starts beating as I realize that we were trapped in this place, with no memories of the outside world. That thought sent shivers down my spine, and I begin to feel tears well up in my eyes. I close my eyes shut and try to hold them back as best as I can with no avail. Tears seem to fall uncontrollably down my face, and I feel lumps of air being trapped in my throat.
"Hey, youre alright..." Says the boy who is holding onto my shoulders tightly.
"You will understand soon." His voice seemed to calm me a little as it was light and soft. I take a few deep breaths before the boy gentely pushes me into a cage that was a few feet under ground. He closes the door behind me and latches it close. I look back to where all the boys where and they pulled out the other boy that was in the cage with me. The boy stares at me with ocean blue eyes and the first thought that comes to mind is,
Brother? I furrow my brows at that thought as I wonder why it came to my mind in the first place. That thought is pushed out of my mind as I see feet step right infront of my eyes, blocking the view of the boy that I thought of as
'My brother'.
I stare up at the boy as he slowly crouches down infront of the cage. I walk away from the bamboo bars that are holding me in the cage.
"Hey,hey..." Says the boy inoccently. He sticks his hand out in front of him to try and calm me down.
"Its okay....no one here is gonna hurt you..." I look at him in the eyes and I believe him. I nod in response as I have no words for the boy.
"If I let you out, you promise you wont run again?" Asks the boy. I nod and look at him in the eyes. He guves me a small smile, and he begins to unlock the coage door. He swings the door open and sticks his hand out, waiting for my hand to grasp his. I hesitate but eventually I grab his hand. He grabs mine tightly and pulls me out of the cage. He lets go of my hands and puts his hands a tiny but out from his sides, and rotates his body from side to side just a little bit.
"Welcome to the heart." Says the boy. I chuckle a tiny bit at what he says. He furrows his eyebrows as he looks at me.
"Whats so funny?" He has a small smile on his face, and I can hear him chuckle slightly, under his breath. I hesitate before responding.
"N-nothing, its just not the manliest of names in the world." I smile lightly. "And from the looks of it, I dont see any other girls but me here, guessing im the first?" I furrow my eyebrows as I look at him. I still have so many questions. Where am I? Why am I here? Who am I? Who were these people?
I look back at the boy and look into his eyes. I notice that he has a somber look on his face, and I come to the realization that I had probably, pushed it with my response. My heart breaks at the sight of him, I felt bad. He sighs and reaches his hand out for mine. I take it.
"Names Aaron." He says. I shake his hand and we begin to walk around what they called "The Heart."
"Over there we call them the cabins. Thats where we all sleep." He points at a large area with small walls built around it filled with both hammocks and actual beds.
"Over there are the gardens." He points over to a place in The Heart, which seemed to be only about 35 feet away from The Cabins. I see people working over at the gardens.
"Over there we have the blood house, which is where we kill all of our livestock." He points only a few feet away from the gardens, at a small hut near the ends of the field.
"And finally the woodlands." He points beside him and I. I turn and see huge trees and a abundance of them. I open my mouth in awe.
They were so beautiful you couldnt resist but to. I see Aaron smile at me. I loom back at him.
"What do we all do here?" I ask him.
"Well" he says. "There are different jobs for everyone here, there is-" I cut him off short.
"No I mean" I sigh before we continue. "What are we here for? Whats the purpose." My head begins to hurt as the overwhelming thought of me having no memories crawls its way back into the head. Aaron sighs before responding.
"I dont know newbie. No one here does." He stops walking and turns to loom at me.
"We were all sent up here just like you were. No memories." Fear begins to flood back into me at those words.
Aaron sees the fear in me and slowly wraps his arm around my shoulder.
"But its gonna be fine." He smiles before continuing.
"Plus... Tonight your gonna have a lot of fun." I furrow my eyebrows at him.
"What do you mean by 'fun'?"**time skip***
The boys all cheer as the bonfire rises in height. I smile and laugh along with them. As I may have just met them, I trusted most of them. They all turned out to be really nice, and they helped me throught the stressful time of being a newbie. I sit behind the boys a few meters away from the bonfire, on a log.
"Mind if I sit?" I hear someone say from behind me. I look up and notice it as the boy I came up in the box with. I smile at him. I shake my head and scoot over just enough for him to sit to the right of me. He smiles and sits down on the log. He looks at me and than away again.
"You know." He starts. I begin to look at him.
"In the box with you. I wasnt scared." I furrow my brows at him.
"It was as if I knew you. When I was trying to remember my family your face popped into my head." He looks at me dead in the eyes now.
"I say you to." I explain. It cant just be a coincidence that we both saw eachother, in exact detail and we didn't even know what we looked like. We also did come in the box together. Maybe whoever sent us up here wanted us to remember eachother.
He looks at me and smiles. I smile back. He pats me on the shoulder and he gets off of the log. I wave goodbye to him, as he walks back to the other boys. I get up from the log and begin to walk towards the woodlands. I sit at the edge of the woodlands against a tree. The bark feels nice on my back. I close my eyes and let out a big sigh. Just as I am about to feel relaxed I feel a hand go over my mouth closing it shut. I open my eyes wide and try to kick off whoever was holding onto me.
"You're not going anywhere..." Says the boy. He grabs my waist and yanks me off of the ground and to my feet. Still holding my mouth shut, he grabs my legs and pick me up as if he was cradling a baby. I still scream under his hand and kick as he brings me further into the forest. I begin to think the worst.
If I was gonna die like this, they should've just killed me in the box.
He walks me another 5 minutes deeper into the forest, I still try to get free but to no avail. He finally stops and throws me to the ground as if I was a piece of trash.I hit the ground head first and i groan out in pain. I feel warm liquid crawling through my hair. The fall had made me open up my wound again that had been patched up before the bonfire. I try to get up but am kicked further to the ground. I hold my stomach as I feel more sharp pains arise. I am flipped onto my back where the boy gets in straddle position over my body. He sticks a T-Shirt into my mouth to muffle my screams."You really think you would get away with what you did to me, Newbie?" I furrow my brows in confusion.
What did I do?
Tears begin to fall down my cheeks harder than they were when I first got up here.
"You think you could knock me down in front of all of my friends and get away with it?" Says the boy.
I realize that this is the same boy I hit in the head with a rock when I first got up here.
"I tried to be nice to you, but you decided not to be nice back." He continues. "So here's your punishment" He pushes my hands over my head and ties them together. I begin to flail my legs underneath him but that just makes im hurt me further. He begins to unbuckle his belt and I that point I knew what was about to happen. I open my eyes wider at the realization. I look at him in horror. He begins to pull of my shirt, now exposing only my bra. He goes further down my body and begins to unbuckle my jeans I try to kick him but nothing works. As he begins to pull my pants down he begins to rip off my underwear.
I flail my legs even harder as my underwear now reaches to my ankles. I try to cover my sex as best as I could using my legs.
"Tell anyone about this and I will make sure that boy who came up in the box with you is dead." I close my eyes shut tight and nod my head. I didn't want him to hurt him. He puts his face right in front of mine and he moans in satisfaction.
"Please..." I say. My voice is muffled from the shirt. "NO!" I scream before everything goes black.I open my eyes and gasp for air. I feel tears fall down my cheek. My heart beat slows down as I realize it was just a dream.
It was just a horrible, horrible dream.
