"Like what?"

"Like not upsetting him! Every personnel who has gone in there has either tortured him, made fun of him, or abused him! 096 is a very sensitive entity who needs love and care. I'm the only person who has done that."

"Love and care is something you have given to him, yes, but he's a dangerous creature who's killed everyone he's looked at! He's dangerous and---"

"And you weren't there when I first saw him." Dr. Harper stops and looks at me. She sighs and nods her head. "You're right," she agrees. "I wasn't." She opens the door and looks at me. "I'll, um, give you two some time to talk." I enter the room and she hands me the keycard. I close the door and walk back over to SCP-096.

[Some time later...]

"Two more guards are dead?" shouts Dr. Andrews. It's been three hours since the killing of the MTF and we're sitting in the conference room. Dr. Harper and I are sitting next to each other, hand on mine to keep me from getting upset. Dr. Andrews looks at me, fury in his eyes.

"This is your fault!" he says, pointing a finger at me. "You can't control that bloody SCP of yours. I knew it was a dangerous idea to have you here at the Foundation. You always bring danger with you everywhere you go."

"It's true I'm friends with many SCPs that are considered dangerous to you," I answer. "But I wasn't the one who killed your guards."

"I don't care! You allowed 096 to kill them, didn't even try to stop it!" Dr. Harper stands up and looks over at Dr. Andrews.

"That's enough, Henry," she says. "Leave her alone. She's been through enough. We don't need you harassing her." Dr. Andrews glares at me then silences, allowing Dr. Harper to sit down once again.

When the tension fades, Dr. Maynard clears his throat. "Trisha, what do you suggest we do?" he asks. I look up at the group. "You can't do this to him," I say. "He's had enough shit in his life. Let him live without the torture and abuse."

"Why should we listen to you?" Dr. Andrews asks. I look over at him. "Because unlike you, I am able to communicate with the SCPs. You wouldn't want them to see me pissed off now, would you?"

Dr. Andrews hesitates but shuts up for the rest of the meeting. Dr. Maynard speaks again. "SCP-096 doesn't trust anyone other than you," he says. "If his object class was Safe, then this would be a different story, but from what we know, we have given him a Euclid object class. We can't stop the testing, but we can postpone it."

"For how long?" I ask. "How does a month sound?" Dr. Maynard suggests. I shake my head. "No, that's not enough time," I say. "No one has given him a month of freedom. If you're going to postpone testing, you have to give him at least a year."

Dr. Harper looks at me, eyes filled with sadness. "Unfortunately we can't do that," she says. "The rules here state that any postponing of testing for any SCP must last one to three months. We can't do a year."

I clench my fists. "That's bullshit!" I cry. "A month to three months? He can't handle the stress! Eventually he'll lose it and go after you. He'll try breaking out of his cell and when he does, you'll regret it."

At this point I'm shaking. I'm trying to stay calm, but it's hard for me. I can feel the anger rising and I know the dangers are coming, but I can't help it. My eyes start to hurt and I close them. When I open them, I've transformed to Euclid.

The guards in the room load their weapons, preparing to fire if I lose control, but I don't. Every scientist is on guard, making sure I don't attack them. I'm not. I start to laugh.

"So you're afraid of me," I say, my green eyes glimmering. "See, this is how the Foundation really feels about me. You're afraid I'm going to hurt you." Dr. Harper narrows her eyes. "Trisha please," she says. I turn my head towards her.

"What?" I ask. "I'm not going to hurt you. No, that wouldn't be right of me. If I did hurt you, I wouldn't be able to help you with your little science experiments."

"Trisha I'm trying to make a compromise here," Dr. Maynard bravely says to me. I turn to look at him. "Yeah, a compromise that will only increase his stress more."

"We're doing this for his own safety. That's what you want, right? For him to be safe. We understand SCP-096 has gone through a lot in his life, and we want to help. We want to help you. We're going to give him a month or two of quiet. That's my final offer."

I glare at Dr. Maynard, but he's right. His words are sincere. He does want to help 096 and me. I close my eyes and take a deep breath and transform back. When I open my eyes, the guards relax and put their weapons down.

"Okay," I say. "But you have to keep everyone out. The only person allowed in there is me, no one else." Dr. Maynard nods in agreement. Then we all begin to leave.

I'm about to leave as well when Dr. Andrews stops me. He puts a hand on my shoulder to turn me around and punches me in the face. I fall to the ground, putting a hand on my cheek. Immediately, my entire body begins to hurt and I groan.

"What the fuck is wrong with you!" I shout, looking away. Dr. Harper comes into the room to see what's going on. She sees me on the ground and helps me up. I'm starting to shake, but I try to keep the anger down. Not here, I think. Not now.

"That's for everything you've put the Foundation through!" says Dr. Andrews. "You and your fucking creepy creatures." Then he leaves.

Dr. Harper leads me to the medical bay and I'm treated there. The anger has settled down a little, but I'm still on edge. Why does he not understand? Why can't he trust me? Everyone else has, but not him. If only I could get him to listen.

Hey guys! Well, that escalated. So Trisha gets to let SCP-096 have some peace to himself. That's good. No one will get hurt. Yes, there's some language in here, but what the heck? I said it was mature, now did I?

Wrote this during Winter Break and I have about a week left until school starts. Woo! Happy to be on break, but to be honest, I kind of want school to start again so I can see my friends and actually work again. When it starts, I'll have eleven days until finals. Eleven days! That's not long to be honest.

Hope you guys are enjoying my story! Can't wait to get more of Trisha and 096. And hopefully we'll see some of her backstory later in the book. Glad you're liking it.
