IN WHICH Eli Moore had always been a little obsessed with dinosaurs, so when his parents get him a ticket to go to Jurassic World, he had never been so excited.
He never expected for his dream to turn into a complete nightmare when the dinosaurs ge...
"But you're not always gonna be around." Gray said sadly.
"Yeah, well... Hey... We're brothers, okay? We'll always be brothers, and we'll always come back to one another. No matter what."
"No matter what?"
"No matter what." Zach wrapped his arm around Gray's shoulder, pulling him into his side, now both of Zach's shoulders has heads on them.
A couple minutes of somewhat relaxing silence past and as the three boys moved to look into the little window cutting them off from the front seat, at the screen Claire was holding. It was live-streaming Owen and his crew. "Your boyfriend's a badass." Zach said, eyes glued to the screen. A small smiled appeared his Claire's face and she made no move to deny the boyfriend claim.
Owen and his crew stopped, getting out of their vehicles and making their way through the deep forest on foot. Eli's interest was peaked and he stared at the screen with anticipation. The was stopped when Claire suddenly lifted her arm up to the slide of the window, "you know what? No, no, no. You guys are not gonna watch this.Keep the window closed." She said, sliding it shut despite their protests.
"Claire! C'mon." Eli called, but the window stayed closed. He huffed and sat back in his seat, bringing his nails up to his mouth as he started to chew them anxiously. Damn and he had stopped doing that for so long.
"Hey." Zach said softly, taking the hand out of his mouth. "Everything's fine, yeah?"
Eli smiled back, nodding his head. "Everything's fine. Don't worry about me." There were much bigger things to worry about. Gray slowly kneeled back up to the window, sliding it open softly so Claire wouldn't catch him.
Zach and Eli kneeled back up as well and looked through at the screen. His eyes widened at what he saw. The raptors that were trusted to take down the indominus rex had turned on them and were now attacking the humans. Why they trusted the raptors in the first place, Eli would never understand. They were smart animals that could not and would not be controlled. Now, the humans were paying the consequences.
"Is everybody dead?" Gray whispered out.
Claire snapped around, not looking angry that they say but more panicked, the gears in her head turning as she tried to come up with something to say to the scared boy. "No, no, no. Everyone is fine."
"Don't lie to him." Zach snapped.
"He's scared." Claire's voice raided, scared herself. "It's okay to lie when people are scared."
"I wanna go home." Gray whimpered, looking at his aunt with tears in his eyes. Eli lifted his hand and rubbed his back, knowing how he was feeling at the moment. How his home sounded so amazing right now.
"Sweetheart, you will, okay? I promise." Claire said sincerely, lifting her hand to grab some of his hair comfortingly before moving to his shoulder. "Tomorrow you will be home, and your mother will never let me see you again."
Bang. A bloody hand slammed onto the glass of the car. A scream left Claire's mouth as the bloody solider yelled, "get out of here! Go!" She didn't waste any time turning on the ignition.
Eli, Zach and Gray fell back, closing the tiny window and looking straight at the doors to the back as they were swung open and the bloody soldier stood there, wanting to get in. "They're coming." He screamed as a raptor jumped on him, digging its teeth into his stomach.
Eli screamed, pushing himself back into the wall as far as he could. The car took off in a spur, leaving the screaming solider and raptor on the ground. "Just hold on back there." Claire yelled, banging on the still closed window. A crash was heard seconds later. Eli went to turn around to see what was happening but stopped when he saw not one but two raptors running behind the open doors of the truck. Faster and faster they was catching up to them.
One of them ran up the side of the truck, only for Claire to swerve to the side and hit it, knocking it unconscious to the ground. There was still the other one, that looked more interested in getting the vulnerable kids than it was the driver. To the side Gray noticed two shock sticks and picked one off the wall, throwing it to the ground in front of Zach and Eli, "turn it on!"
"I don't know how." Just as the words left Zach's mouth, the raptor jumped up, his front claws digging themselves into the back of the truck. Eli gasped, looking down at the shock stick and flipping the button he was nearly sure was the on switch. Electric sparks shocked out of the tip and Eli felt a small amount of relief that they now had a weapon.
"Now!" Eli commanded, him and Zach pushing the shock stick forward, hitting the raptor right in the chest. The dinosaur fell back out of the truck, landing on the ground with a hard thud.
"Are you boys okay?" Claire's worried voice called through the now open window.
"Did you see that?" Zach said with a bit of excitement.
Gray didn't wait for a response. "I can't wait to tell Mom." Eli laughed at that, feeling adrenaline pumping through his veins, not believing he just took on a raptor and survived it.
"Please, no. Do not tell your mother about that, ever. You to, Eli!" She replied. Eli looked out the back of the truck again, glad when instead of seeing another raptor, he saw Owen speeding up to them on his motorbike.
"We gotta get indoors." He commanded as he drove his way up to Claire. "Follow me."
