"Anyway." The other senior stated in resignation. "Clean up and do the other chores. Sarah, you know, we are not bullying you are anything, right? You are a cheerleader too. So, it is your duty to do the chores." She smiled to me and blew a flying kiss to the boys.
"Make sure to watch our cheer this week, guys!"
The cheerleader said waving her pompoms. The boys who just shielded me immediately turned to her side and waved back.
"Sure. Good luck!"
"You will win the cheer competition!"
She walked away thanking them. The other seniors followed her. Some walked away with their boyfriends who were waiting for them while others went with their fellow cheerleader friends. And, I was left all alone in the empty room.
"Yeah. Sure, chores are something every cheerleader must do. But, that doesn't mean you can place all the chores on one cheerleader instead of sharing the work!"
I yelled back at them angrily.
"Did Sarah just yell?"
"Oh she is too cute. I hope I can date her someday."
I heard boys from the breachers muttering again.
I now let a deep sigh.
Oh please. Get out of here. I am done.
I resumed my sweeping the cheer area.
Dreamy romance novels, Those are what I love to read. Preferentially, the ones that go back to the middle ages. I just love how the knights fight with dragons and monsters and go on adventures for their country and their lady. I adore their visuals, the landscape and enjoy the emotion, melancholy and refreshing feelings they always give me.
Amelia says, my interest in medieval romance genre is like Samuel Coleridge. She says I must aspire to become a writer like him. And, that is true. I guess, that conversation we had under the meteor shower about romcoms still has a great impact in me.
Writing novels and publishing them is my dream. I have tried to start writing a lot of times. But, I never had the confident to publish any. Besides, a popular girl interested in writing romance novels and dreams of meeting a guy who truly loves her like those lionheart knights? Isn't it too weird to hear?
When I was young, I dressed up like a dorky nerd and was scared the boys wouldn't like me. And, now that I am popular, I am till scared that they only like me for my good looks.
Life is a loop. You get out of one and always enter a new one.
After I was done with my cleaning, I was locked the door and stepped out of my school entrance.
Walking home late in the evening on the dark and lonesome streets all alone is a terrifying activity. But, today's degree of terrifying was definitely a step ahead than the usual. Amelia had already gone home by the time I started from school.
Since I had some work with my cheerleading after school chores, I had to stay up late. Cheerleader duties as they like to call it. However, I am definately that they are simply getting back on me for stealing their male fans the moment I joined their team.
So, anyways I tried to do away myself from scary thoughts by half humming.
Basically, our town is located in a remote and a far flung area. And, especially since, it's winter, where the dusk arrives earlier, all our neighbourhood winds up their chores before 6 pm.
It was also pretty dark at this point.
This was when I suddenly heard a sound of few footsteps.
I abruptly turned back and looked behind me.
