Newt x Reader - The Heart

The Attack

“Do you fancy anybody in this circle?” He asks. I look around the campfire and contemplate on what to say.

Do I lie…? Or tell the truth …? I mean it's not like he's gonna ask who right? Yeah I will just tell him the truth, and he just won't ask who.

“Yes.” I say fast before looking at my hands that are laying on my lap. People 'ooohhh’ as they hear me say that.

“Who!?” Asks Newt as he looks up at me genuinely surprised.

Shit.

“That wasn't part of the question now was it?” I say smiling at him. Newt nods his head.

“Fair. Your turn.” He says. I look around the group as I think about who I want to do.

“Minho. Truth or dare?” I ask. Minho snaps his attention back to me after talking. “Um…. Do you think i’m pretty?” I ask. I realize that I really haven't seen what I looked like in a while, so I used this as my opportunity to ask.

“Oh, hell yeah, (Y/H/L), (Y/H/C) hair falls perfectly on your shoulders and your eyes are a perfect shade of (Y/E/C). THey totally match your complexion. I would say your closer to hot.” Says Minho as he laughs and winks towards Newt.

Weird… again...

Minho’s comment makes red creep onto my cheeks, I look down at the ground and play with my hands.

“I totally agree with you Minho.” Says Newt. I look at him and smile.

Did he just call me hot? No! He was just being nice… He wanted to agree with Minho. I can’t be that attractive!

“T-T-Thanks… Okay Minh-” I am cut off by Aaron.

“Whatever all they care about is your looks and not what’s on the inside.” Says Aaron as he stands and huffs.

“WHatever.” Says Newt. “Who’s been with her the past week and a half? Because i’m pretty sure it was us and not you guys. We saved her life not you.” FInishes Newt through gritted teeth.

“Okay guys lets just calm down we-” Before Frypan could finish Aaron starting yelling again.

“Yeah you totally saved her by leading her into dangerous situation, The Right Arm would have gotten her out anyway, but instead you lead her out here! What hero you are..” Aaron says. Newt stands and begins to walk over to Aaron. I stand as well.

“Aaron back off.” says Minho as he stays sitting.

“She doesn’t even need you anymore, we can cleary protect her better!” Says Newt as he waves his finger in front of Aaron’s face.

This is nothing like Newt.

“Newt stop!” I yell as I run up to the duo. I turn to Newt and push him back lightly with my hands.

“SHe seems totally fond of you.” Aaron says sarcastically. I turn around and slap Aaron across the face.

“CAN YOU GUYS SHUT THE FUCK UP FOR 3 SECONDS!” I yell. “You guys can figure this out another time but not in front of everyone, and for sure not in front of my friends.” Newt reaches for my shoulder but I push it out of the way. “Don't touch me, you know I hate that.” I say as I begin to back away. I can see a flash of hurt and sadness go across Newts face, but I ignore it. “You guys have fun finishing the game.” I say as I turn around towards Eric.

“Wanna come with me? Too talk?” I ask as I reach my hand out for him to grab it. He nods his head and grabs my hand.

I lead Eric onto of a mountain. I look to my right and see Teresa standing on the mountain with something in her hand but I can’t make out what. Eric and I sit down next to each other on a rock that’s poking out of the ground.

“Shit.” I say as I hang my head down low. Eric wraps his arm around me to comfort me.

“Was that to harsh? Do you think Newt will ever talk to me again? Or...Aaron?” I ask.

“I have only known Newt for a couple of hours now and I can tell that your important to him… So no. You haven’t lost anybody. Not even Aaron.” Eric says as he plants a kiss on my forehead. The warmth of Eric’s body on mine soothes me and allows me to calm down.

“I really missed you.” I say. Eric looks at me with tears in his eyes but he shoos them away.

“I missed you to.” He says. “Enough of this sad and moopy stuff, we're here together we should be having fun.” Eric says as he releases me. I smile at him. “Earlier in the game you said you ‘fancy’ someone as Newt would say. Who is the someone?” Eric asks as he turns his body to face me. My cheeks turn red and I look away. “Newt.” I admit not even scared of his reaction. He nods his head.

“I could tell, its kinda obvious.” He says. “I can tell that he likes you back as well.” He says as he looks at me. I look at him and furrow my brows. “There’s no way, we just met.” I say as I look down at the ground, I trace circles in the sand with my foot while doing so.

“You’ve known him for a week and you like him. Who says it can’t be the other way around?” Eric as as he gives me a smirk. I push Eric’s arm playfully. “Shut up.” I say under a smile. I look back at where Teresa is and see that Thomas has now joined her. I furrow my brows.

I wonder what their talking about….

“I wonder what their talking about.” Says Eric as he looks at Teresa and Thomas.

“You read my mind” I say as I concentrate on the duo. I see Thomas step back a little as if he is taken aback. He falls back slightly as he says something before he turns on his heels and begins to run down the hill. I furrow my brows as Teresa looks back over the horizon. I look in her direction and see light in the distance hovering in the sky. They seem to be getting closer and closer as time goes by. I stand up and Eric does to.

“What is that?” Eric says as he stand behind me. I furrow my brows for a moment as I think. My eyes widen as I come to the realization.

“Wicked…” I say with my face falling. They are now only a feet hundred feet from us before I actually react. One thought pops into my mind that causes my feet to break into a run back to the camp.

Newt and Minho(but especially Newt)

I can see Thomas inching his way closer and closer towards the camp. I hear Eric runn- Limping close behind me.  I catch up to Thomas as he just reaches the camp.

“No!” I hear Thomas yell. But it was to late. The bergs were already above the camp and have already fires at the crowd of people with bombs. We both stop ourselves on the edge of the cliff. Underneath us the camp burning down to the ground.

I finally updated! After years! This one was kinda rushed and im publishing this in school and I dont want to get caught so this is gonna have to be short. I love you guys and enjoy the new chapter! (Btw next chapter will be the final in the schorch trials but I am gonna write tdc in this book because I dont wanna create a new one)❤
