INSIDE OUT (DP+Batman crossover)

It isn't possible...

Without a sound, Red hood vanished from the batcave back to one of his safe houses in Gotham. He stored there all the equipment he would need and also he didn't want Bruce or his brothers to know about the bullets. With Bruce's strict rule again using guns, it was hard for him to make some lethal bullets near Batman.

<<One Hour Later>>

A bus exploded, right in the middle of a road, causing massive car crash. It wasn't a surprise when the citizens found who was responsible. Nowadays, it was only Phantom who terrorized the city. It became a routine to kill people for Dan so the smart citizens moved out to another city.

Danny on the other hand had no choice but to stay. Since the sudden turn of events after the meeting with the bat family, he went silent, trying to isolate himself from the whole world.

Dan didn't even care to look at the victims of the car crash, he just flew away, heading for the center of the town, ready to cause a massive chaos. Not a single sound could be heard when the ghost landed in the middle of a road. As he looked around, there was no one, the houses and streets were abandoned.

Suddenly, dozens of people dressed in colorful costumes came out of their hidings, each one of them holding a weapon or being a weapon himself.

"We came here today to put a stop to you!" A booming voice somewhere from Dan's left could be heard. The whole crowd of superheroes cheered, taking a step forward to the ghost known as Phantom.

"Haven't you learned anything?" The ghost taunted even though he was the one outnumbered. His evil smile grew as he flew higher, having a full look at his surroundings.

Dan could see Superman, who was trying to sneak up on him from behind. The ghost turned his attention to the blue and red superhero, making him flinch. Superman didn't expect to be spotted so soon so he decided to charge at the ghost flying in front of him. He had his fist raised, ready to punch him in the face, when the ghost lowered in the air and grabbed Superman, tossing him in the nearest building.

The other heroes expected this so they started firing their weapons. Arrows, lasers, batarangs and other weapons were heading Phantom's way but the ghost turned intangible and everything flew right through him.

"Your weapons are useless against me!" Dan shouted at the heroes in his deep voice. What he didn't see was a person, who threw him to the ground. Where the ghost landed, a huge crater could be found with an angry ghost.

"So you want to play dirty? I can too..." as he finished his sentence he turned invisible and went for heads of his opponents. Red tornado was standing right at the edge of the crater which made him a target to the furious halfa.

Dan flew right at the robot, ripping his robotic limbs and his head. The body parts sparkled and that was it, Red tornado was down. Batman was observing the whole situation from a near building with thermal scan since Phantom was invisible. The bat themed hero was so glad that the ghost didn't turn intangible too because then he couldn't trace his heat signature. It wasn't hard to tell where he was since he was the only being who didn't emit heat but cold.

The dark knight saw as the ghost approached an unsuspecting hero, ready to kill. When he was still invisible there wasn't much that they could do against him since they couldn't see him so Batman went straight for the emergency plan. He threw the ectoranium smoke bomb right at the cold signature. When the gadget hit the ground, green smoke raised and consumed the people standing nearby.

Suddenly, the heroes could hear a strong coughing coming from the green smoke. After a while when the smoke cleared enough to see through, they could see a form lying on the ground, supporting himself on his elbows.

"Phantom, this ends now." Batman said in his gravely voice as he landed in front of the ghost. Dan didn't do anything for a while, just collecting his strength.

"You think ...cough... you can beat me that easily?" The ghost said after a while, rising his body into a sitting position. His red eyes sparkled and he stood up, both of his fists glowing with green fire. Just as he was about to finish Batman, something hit him in his side and then right into his shoulder. The ghost found himself bleeding.

"It isn't possible..." Dan thought.

"It's ectoranium." His human side answered his words laced with pain as he could feel everything Dan felt. The two fire balls died down in Dan's hands, leaving him unprotected. After all those fights with all these heroes, they finally managed to defeat him.

With the last bit of strength that was left in his body, he turned invisible and intangible and flew away. When Dan felt that his powers were giving out, he phased right into a random apartment. What he didn't expect was a room full of guns, blades and bombs.

This must be a hideout of some of those costume freaks. Dan thought to himself as he was looking for a first aid kit. He found a box full of medical supplies and brought them to a table. The ghost opened the box and took out some tools he thought might be useful at taking out a bullet. There was a cloth so he took it, ripped it in half and pressed it against his two wounds.

Dan was about to start his self treatment when a door lock could be heard. He couldn't see the person from his spot but he was sure that his presence was noticed. The owner of the apparent walked quietly towards his storage room, completely shocked of what he found.

"YOU." Red hood growled at the intruder, taking out his gun with the last ectoranium bullet. As Dan lifted his head, he was met with a gun aiming right between his eyes. He didn't move, he just kept pressure on his two bleeding wounds. Red hood expected some answer but the ghost stayed quiet.

Dan was trying to calm himself down but it seemed impossible. A gun was aimed right at his head and the annoying human part was being too active.

Dan's eyes suddenly snapped open, revealing toxic green eyes but as soon as they appeared they were gone.

"Leave me alone." Phantom said in an angry whisper, the pain having the best of him.

"Tell me what are you doing here." Red hood asked in a threatening voice, demanding some answers.

"What do you think I'm doing?" The ghost shot  back and winced as the pain got worse. It became too much for Dan and he was forced into his human form, revealing the black haired teen. Since the human side of him was much weaker, he went unconscious.

Red hood just stood there in shock. Their greatest enemy was just a kid. He felt bad for the kid so he took out the bullets and stored them for later. He still didn't trust him so he strapped him to a bed just in case. For an unknown reason, the anti-hero didn't call Batman or someone else. He just held their greatest enemy in his house, who was currently healing from the wounds he caused him.

After some time, the vigilante decided to take a look at his 'patient'. He found the same boy lying in the bed but what caught his attention were his wounds. The bandages were soaked in red and green liquid, not normal for a human. Red hood took off the blood soaked bandages but he found only scars, not a single bullet hole. Since there was no need to bandage him, Red hood left him lying and took a seat near him.

In about an hour, the young boy shot up from his sleep, his blue eyes taking in his surroundings. He found himself tied to a bed with a person carefully watching him.

"Your awake." Red hood deadpanned looking right into the boy's eyes with his helmet on. Danny took a deep breath in and closed his eyes. As he opened them again, he found himself on the same room.

"Where am I?" Danny asked and he surprised himself. He wasn't trapped in Dan's head now, he was free. A pure smile appeared on his face but it soon fell when he realized he wasn't alone.
