"Again?" he asked.
"Not really, considering it didn't actually happen," I explained.
"Wow. You just keep getting worse and worse," he said.
I raised an eyebrow. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"You're becoming far too rebellious for my liking," he teased.
"I'm not rebellious."
"Beating up people, setting your homework on fire, shooting people's vehicles-" I cut him off.
"That was your fault, so don't you dare try to blame it on me! And your little Ironhide is fine, so shut up and quit whining," I chided.
He laughed and Ron shook his head at us.
"I'm seriously thinking about sending you to military school."
"Please do. Maybe they'll actually teach me how to use a freaking machine gun and then I'll just come back and blast your truck windows out. We'll see how rebellious you think I am then," I teased.
"Good luck trying to put even a dent in that truck. You'd have better luck shooting your mom's Tahoe," he laughed.
I scoffed. "I think I can manage. It may be a military truck, but it isn't completely invulnerable."
He laughed again. "Go ahead and try. I don't care, Azalea."
"I'll take a cannon to it. You wanna whine about a little gunshot, just wait."
"Alright. Whatever floats your boat. I'm not stopping you," he stated.
Him and Ron had a rather smug look on their faces which caused me to grimace. I settled back into the couch and watched TV. The Big Bang Theory was on, and I focused my attention on it. I laughed every now and then when Sheldon cracked a joke or when Howard made a comment. I sat back up after it went off.
"Exactly how was the universe formed?" I asked no one in particular. The show had just made me particularly curious.
"Have you not been paying attention in Science and Astronomy?" my dad asked. I rolled my eyes.
"Firstly, in astronomy you study stars. And secondly, no I have not."
"Then how are you an A student?" he asked.
"I'm just smart like that. Now answer the question. I'm curious."
"Ask Jesus," my dad baited.
I growled. "Whatever," I responded. My dad chuckled. "Can one of you go get my pain pills, please?" I whined.
"You're quite the needy little girl," Ron said as he got up.
"I'm not needy and I'm not a little girl."
"If you say so," he responded as he walked up the stairs.
A few moments later he came stomping back down the stairs. He tossed the bottle of pills at me but before I could respond, they hit me in the forehead. I let out a whine and held my head. I heard my dad laughing, but Ron stopped in his tracks and looked at me. He walked over to me and sat down next to me, careful not to bother my injured knee.
"Are you okay?" he asked me.
"Yes."
I gave him a reassuring smile and moved my hand away from my face. I grabbed the bottle of pills from my lap. I unscrewed the top and put one of them in my mouth. After swallowing, I looked back up to see Ron giving me a strange look.
"What?"
"You have a knot on your forehead," he stated.
I reached my hand up to the area where the bottle had hit and sure enough there was a small knot on the side of my forehead.
