The next few days went on without any incident, of course a couple of side comments were passed between the two men. (Y/n) still clung to Shulks side, and her love never wavered from him. But something was starting to change within their relationship, (Y/n) noticed Shulks sudden distance. Always nervous, always seeming like he had something to do. Cloud always tried to convince her that he wasn't trying anymore.
"You wouldn't have to change for me, (Y/n)." Cloud said, as he held one of (Y/n)'s hands. "I see the pain you go through with him, he can't even kiss you without hurting you."
"Y-you're wrong, every choice I make.." she trailed off "It'll always be him."
"I don't buy that." Cloud took a step towards her,
"Why?" (Y/n) asked,
"I know you feel something for me, you're just scared to admit it." Cloud leaned in close to her,
"Cloud.." (Y/n) turned her head away from Clouds gaze,
"I'll never give up," Cloud then looked down at her, "Until I see you in a white dress." (Y/n)'s gave turned back towards him, she couldn't help but feel flattered. Never in her life has she ever felt so loved by a man, ever.
"(Y/n), we have to go." A voice said from behind Cloud and (Y/n), she turned around to see Shulk standing there. Cloud grabbed (Y/n)'s hand, he looked at Shulk in a taunting manner. (Y/n) looked up at Cloud, terror was in her eyes. Clouds eyes softened, he released his grip on her wrist and watched walk to Shulk.
Shulk walked (Y/n) up to their room, a look of slight annoyance in his eyes. (Y/n) had her head down,
"Shulk, please don't be upset.." she trailed off.
"I'm not." He interrupted, maybe a little too fast.
"Then why are you so quiet?" (Y/n) said, both of them walked to their room.
"It's nothing." Shulk had his head down, (Y/n) could tell that something was eating him up, but she couldn't put her finger on it. When they finally approached the room, (Y/n) opened the door to see rose pedals scattered into a trail that leads to the bed. (Y/n) looked in confusion, she then looked back at Shulk who had a small smile on his face.
"Shulk?" (Y/n) asked in confusion, Shulk then grabbed her hand and leaded her into the room. He walked her to the center of the room, there was candles around the room, along with some roses that were circled along the ends of the rooms and on the furniture.
"Will you tell me what's going on?" (Y/n) said, almost damanding an answer. Shulk only chuckled,
" (Y/n), you know I love you..right?"
"O-of course I do." (Y/n) smiled, he then took (Y/n)'s hands.
"Ever since I met you, I've loved you. More then words could ever say, the time I spent away from you was one of the hardest times in my life. Dear (Y/n), I love you more then anything this the world." Shulk then reached into this sweater pockets, he then got down on one knee. He opened up a small box that held a ring inside,
"(Y/n) (L/n), will you do me the extraordinary favor of becoming my wife?"
(Y/n) looked down at him, shock over took her expression, but then a smile started to grow.
"Yes." She said with a bright smile. Shulk then smiled, he stood up and embraced her. He picked her up and spun her, he then kissed her. (Y/n) put her arms around his neck, deeping the already longing kiss. Tonignt, and all the night what will soon follow, they were engaged.
(Y/n) walked down the stairs that lead to outside, it was a day of battles and fights. She saw Shulk standing by one of the light poles, he was talking to some of the other fighters. He noticed (Y/n) walked towards the group, he quickly waved goodbye to the group and walked towards his fiance.
"Good morning my wife." He teased, (Y/n) giggled.
"Soon to be!" She said back, Shulk then leaned down and kissed her. He then noticed the small purple bruise from under her hair,
"Rough night?" He remarked with a smirk, (Y/n) slapped his arm.
"You did that!"
"I have more then one way of marking my beautiful wife." Shulk then grabbed her hand, "you're not wearing your ring." He said, (Y/n) then pulled back her hand and sighed.
"I just didn't want to lose it."
"Or risk Cloud seeing it." Shulk remarked, he had a small smile on his face. (Y/n) shook her head with a smile,
"I just want to wait after his battle to tell him, so he would have a clear head."
"As long as if he knows, my soon to be wife." He smiled down at her, (Y/n) smiled back.
"You're marrying him?" A voice said, both Shulk and (Y/n) turned.
"Cloud, I.." (Y/n) stopped, she then turned back at Shulk. "You knew he was listening" the visions
"He has to know." Shulk said, Cloud then stormed off.
"Cloud!" (Y/n) called after him, she turned to follow him but was stopped by Shulk grabbing her wrist. "Don't!" She yelled. Shulk then let go.
"Cloud, stop!" She chased after him. Cloud started stormer down a small trail that was out of sight from the main area.
"Cloud, stop!" She called again, she then grabbed his shoulder. He then stopped,
"I'm done. I'm so done!" He yelled, he then began to pace.
"What can I do?" She almost cried, Cloud looked at her with an angered expression.
"You can't do anything, but I can. By going out there and killing something."
"No! Cloud, you're not thinking clearly!" (Y/n) pleaded,
"Then let me make this easy for you, I'll get myself killed. I can turn off the safety for one of my battles." Cloud said, he still paced.
"Cloud please!"
"Then give me a reason, give me one good reason to stay." Cloud then stopped pacing,
"Because you're too important to me!" She pleaded, her eyes most held tears.
"Not good enough." Cloud went to walk away,
"Cloud!" She yelled again, he turned around.
"Kiss me!" She said,
"What?" He asked confused.
"I'm telling you to kiss me." She said, Cloud then walked towards her and pulled her close. He then leaned down and kissed her, he held her around the waist. Their lips moved together, it was a deep and passionate kiss. Lasting for a long time, (Y/n) had her arms around his neck. They then separated, leaning their foreheads together.
"That.." Cloud then kissed her again "should've been our first kiss." He finished, (Y/n) only nodded.
"Cloud, you mean the world to me. But..I'm marrying him, and I'm sorry but you can't change that." (Y/n) then let go of the taller swordsman, who only nodded.
"Please, come back alive." She said, Cloud smiled.
"Only for you." He then walked away.
(Y/n) walked back up the little trail to see Shulk standing their, waiting for her.
"You saw?" She asked,
"Unfortunately the visions gave me front row seats." He said sadly, he then looked down at the ground.
"I'm so sorry." She pleaded, Shulk only shook his head.
"You love him." He stated, (Y/n) shook her head.
"I love you more." She then cupped Shulks cheek, she then smiled. "And I can't wait to marry you."
"And I can't wait for marry you too." Shulk then wrapped his arm around her waist, be then kissed her deeply. Shulk then slyly pulled the ring from her pocket, (Y/n) only smiled into the kiss. They both pulled apart, (Y/n) looked down to see Shulk holding it. She outstretched her hand so he could place it onto her ring finger, once it was one they both admired the matching set of rings.
"I love you, my soon to be wife." She smiled,
"And I love you, my husband."
