Chapter 83: Blue Heart

"Well, we wanted the full experience!" Peridot told, "The electronic entertainment gallery was very interesting,"

"And I liked the second movie we saw more," Lapis Lazuli told as she set Pumpkin on the ground

"Yeah, glad you two had fun," Y/n said as they yawned again, grabbing the comforter of their bed, "I'm gonna go to sleep,"

"And we shall join you!" Peridot yelled as she ran to the bed and jumped on top, pushing herself to wall and curling up

"If you say so," Y/n laughed as they turned to Lapis Lazuli and gestured to the bed, "After you,"

Lapis Lazuli laughed a bit as she climbed into the bed, leaving room for them with a small smile, "You gotta get into your sleep stuff, right?"

"Right, right... And brush my teeth," Y/n sighed as they turned their back and went to the closet, "I'll be right back,"

Lapis Lazuli nodded as she watch Y/n grab their pajamas then head into the small bathroom on the opposite side of the room, the sound of running water emanating from it, "Peridot, pretend to be asleep okay? I'm gonna try something..."

"Try what?" Peridot whispered, "Is this about their stomach thing?"

"Yeah," Lapis Lazuli told, "I might take them somewhere to talk about it, so just... You know, be asleep"

"Fine, I'll leave that to you... Your emotional intelligence is greater than mine" Peridot muttered

Lapis Lazuli nodded as she watched the door, waiting for a few minutes as the water started again for a few seconds then turned off. The door opened as Y/n walked out, sighing softly as they climbed into the bed, their back towards Lapis Lazuli as they pulled the covers over them. Lapis Lazuli hummed as she moved her hand over their side, pulling them close and slowly wrapping her arm around them. After they seemed to get comfortable, she moved her arm down to their stomach, causing Y/n to jolt violently and fall of the bed, breathing rapidly as they scoot away from the bed.

"Y/n..." Lapis Lazuli sighed as she got out of the bed and walked to them, putting her hand out for them, "You have to tell me what's wrong..." Y/n looked up in horror for a second, swatting her hand away and scooting back again, "Y/n, it's me! I'm not going to hurt you!

Y/n looked up slowly, their eyes teared up as they grip their knees tightly, "I'm sorry..." is all they could mutter as they shoved their face back between their knees

"No, no," Lapis Lazuli said as she knelt down and put a hand on their knee, "I'm sorry... I just... You have to tell me what's wrong,"

"It's just... I'm stupid is all..." Y/n sighed, "I'll get over it..."

Lapis Lazuli shook her head as she grabbed their hand, "Please, tell me... I can help you!"

Y/n clenched her hand tightly, looking down at the ground, "There's nothing to help..."

"Come on," Lapis Lazuli sighed as she stood up and tugged their arm, "We're gonna take a quick trip,"

"W-what? Where?" Y/n frowned as they looked up

"Just outside... Somewhere nice and quiet," Lapis Lazuli told as she helped them stand up

"Why?" Y/n asked as they stood up slowly, "What about Peridot?"

"She's asleep... Let's just go somewhere else, okay?" Lapis Lazuli said, offering a small smile

"I-I guess," Y/n sighed as they glanced around the room

"Trust me, you'll be okay..." Lapis Lazuli assured as she hooked her arms underneath their shoulders, flying off towards the window then out towards the beach. She continued flying even after they reached the dark, quiet sand, flying out until no human structure could be seen, "Here..." She murmured as she slowly lowered them onto the sand, falling onto her feet close behind them

"Why did you want to come out here?" Y/n asked as they gently scratched at their arms

Lapis Lazuli smiled a bit as she offered her hand out, "So we can fuse,"

Y/n blushed brightly as they stared at her hand then back up to her, "W-why do you want to do that?"

"So you don't have to say anything... I can see what's wrong... and maybe you can see why I can help you," Lapis Lazuli told, "I... We never had an authentic experience with this"

Y/n laughed lightly as they looked to the ground then back up, placing their hand into hers and lightly squeezing, "Let's fuse,"

Lapis Lazuli laughed as she pulled them in close, wrapping another arm around their back and swaying them to the side, spinning them out as her gem began to shine brightly. Y/n hummed as they pulled her in, dipping her down and laughing as they pull her back up slightly, placing their forehead on her chest and taking a quick breath in. Before they could raise their head again, Lapis Lazuli put a hand on their head gently and kept them in place. They closed their eyes as a warm feeling entered them, counteracting the wind-chilled ocean breeze hitting against their skin. They seemed to enter a sense of deep meditation, only to be taken back into reality once a warm drip of liquid landed on their skin

"L-Lapis?" Y/n stammered as they looked up, her grip became tighter as she straightened up, keeping them close to her chest as she began to shake

"Y-you... You... You died..." Lapis Lazuli croaked out, "A-and you felt the whole thing..."

"Yeah..." Y/n sighed, "That sums it up..."

"Oh stars, your stomach..." Lapis Lazuli choked as she gave them a tight squeeze, "Is... Is it still in there?"

"No, no... I don't think..." Y/n assured, "It just... It hurts when I think about it"

Lapis Lazuli gently ran her fingers through Y/n's hair as she kept them in her embrace, taking short breathes as they stood there, only the sound of the soft waves crashing into the beach could be heard, "...Can you... See into my mind?"

"Yes," Y/n nodded as they returned the embrace, "...I guess this is something else we have in common..."

"I-I thought I'd be able to help you, b-but I can't... I don't know what to do..." Lapis Lazuli teared up as she shut her eyes tight

"Just... Be here..." Y/n sighed, "...I'll keep you safe,"

"And I'll keep you safe... I promise," Lapis Lazuli sniffled as she held them tighter.
