Jason woke up out of nowhere in the middle of the night. The digital clocks in his room set on his nightstand showed him 3:21 AM. It wasn't usual for him or anyone in the batfamily to wake up sooner than needed to and Jason didn't have a single reason to wake up. He looked around the room, trying to figure out why he woke up suddenly. Then it hit him. He was looking for Danny when he found his evil ghost half locked up in the batcave being interrogated. He tried to talk to him but he didn't know what to tell him so he basically run away from him, hiding in his room.
As he promised yesterday, he was going to talk to Danny, or some part of him when the rest of his family leave. None of them were about to leave the house until 7:00 so he had enough time to think about what to say to Danny's ghost half. He thought about it for a long time but nothing came to him. Well... I'll be improvising then. He thought as he was taking out some regular clothes.
It was about 5 in the morning so he decided to make himself some breakfast. When he stepped out of his room, the hallway was silent, only light snores could be heard behind the doors. Jason used his stealth ability to get past the bedrooms quietly, without making a single sound. His whole family including him were light sleepers, it came with the job.
When Jason reaches the kitchen door, it was dark inside. Everyone was trying to get as much sleep as they could. He didn't bother to turn on the lights, his eyes adjusted to his dark surrounding a long time ago.
"What to eat." Jason thought out loud while he was looking around the huge kitchen. He walked towards their fridge, taking out mayonnaise, ham, cheese, salad and some tomatoes. To finish his sandwich, he needed one more thing and that was bread. He made himself two sandwiches and two extra, which would be delivered to Danny when they will be alone. The young vigilante didn't bother to wash his dirty dishes, he just piled them next to the sink.
"May I have one sandwich?" A voice asked out of nowhere. Jason found the source of the voice and it belonged to his youngest brother Damian, who was standing in the doorway.
"No, I made them for me. Go and make your own." The older male announced to his younger sibling with a scowl.
"You have four." The child wouldn't give up so easily, after all his father was Batman and his grandfather was Ra's al Ghul.
"And what if." Jason bit back, ignoring his brother. He walked out of the kitchen and into the living room to watch some TV.
Soon after, the people living in this house started pouring down the stairs, to get something to eat. Jason knew that soon enough, he will be free to pay a visit to his friend who was locked downstairs.
The clocks were nearing the seventh hour when Bruce walked inside of the living room, fully dressed in his expensive tux.
"Morning." Jason greeted, looking away from the TV screen.
"Everyone except you has a program for today so I would like you to watch over him." Bruce said.
"Okay." Jason's answer shocked Bruce a little. He has never been so willing to do something. Normally, Bruce would have to go through an argument first but today was different. He gave his son a small smile, liking his new attitude. What he didn't know was that he needed to get to the cave.
After about fifteen minutes, the whole house was cleared, everyone going their separate ways. Bruce heading to his office, Dick to work, Tim and Damian to school while Alfred went to see an old friend. The reason why Jason wasn't at school was because he had a 3 week detention for starting a fight. He got into trouble for it about 1 and half week ago so nearly two free weeks were ahead of him.
The boy took the plate with two sandwiches and headed for the secret entrance. When he was about to open the secret door, he looked around from habit. You never know if someone is watching you. Jason walked down the stairs, only to be met with a dark cave. A soft glow was illuminating the near walls and also showing him where Danny was situated.
